Mike McKinney vs Allen Weisser at Fairbury Speedway (Video)

Here’s a trilling bullring dirt race that you have to see

Dirt Modified drivers Allen Weisser and Mike McKinney unloaded at Fairbury American Leagion Speedway over the weekend. The 1/4-mile dirt oval didn’t disappoint.

With four laps remaining, Weisser led by a full straight away. The leader rolled the middle of the race track. Meanwhile, McKinney was hammer down around the top.

Sparks were flying. Down the straight away, in the corner, everywhere. McKinney was in the red and using every inch of the tiny race track.

2 laps to go, the gap evaporated in a hurry. McKinney was now on the back bumper of the race leader.

Coming to the white, McKinney knocked on the cushion once more. He pulled to the right rear of Weisser but the door was slammed off the corner. McKinney anticipated this and pumped the brakes.

Back in turn three for the final time, Weisser again went to the middle. McKinney bounced it off the cushion, the same way he’s been doing it in this whole chase.

This time off turn four, Weisser struggled with lap traffic on the bottom. McKinney pulled to his door.

They were even coming to the finish line. Weisser had plans to use the whole race track on the exit, just like he’d been doing. This time, McKinney was there.

The two made contact off the final corner. The rear end of McKinney lifted clear off the ground as Weisser tagged the wall behind him.

Mike McKinney grabbed the win at Fairbury on a final corner pass off turn four! He took home the check for $1,500 for his effort.

Mike McKinney comments

“I have a lot of respect for Allen. We go hard and race hard,” Mike McKinney said in victory lane.

“After they prepped the track, I was expecting it to be flooded and we were wide open. I had a groove up top. Allen was rolling the middle and we had a heck of a run.”

“Now we’ve had some memorable finishes at Fairbury American Legion Speedway, but we think this one takes the top spot.”
