Tonight, it’s night one of three in Greenwood, Nebraska. The 4/10-mile oval of I-80 Speedway hosts the national dirt late model tour.

Tonight, it’s a rescheduled event from earlier in the season. The feature winner will earn a check for $12,000. It’s unrelated to the $53,000 Silver Dollar Nationals that will take place on Friday-Saturday.

Heat 1 – Report

Jonathan Davenport and Tyler Bruening set row one for the first heat race of the weekend. Green, Buening gets right and runs high into turn one. Davenport leads on the bottom.

Davenport leads into turn three. He jumps the cushion, falls to 4th and Bruening takes the lead.

Davenport fights back into a transfer spot.

Tyler Bruening takes the win in the first heat race of the weekend!

Heat 2 – Report

Billy Moyer Jr and Shannon Babb trail the pace truck in heat two. Green, Moyer Jr leads on the bottom in turn one.

Babb tries the bottom in turn two but he can’t get the drive off. Slow car behind them, caution.

Green, Moyer Jr leads by a car length into turn one. Bloomquist works on Babb for 2nd.

Heat 3 – Report

Jimmy Owens and Mason Zeigler lead them to the line in heat three. Green, Owens leads. False start on Owens, complete restart.

Green, Zeigler hits the cushion in turn one. He pulls even with Owens through the center of the corner. Zeigler gets the drive off the top and leads off turn two.

Marlar fights for space off turn two. He makes wheel to wheel contact but they both continue.

Mason Zeiglet remains on the top and opens the gap. Zeigler takes the win in heat three!

Heat 4 – Report

Brandon Sheppard and Tyler Erb head to the flag stand in the final heat race of the night. Green, Sheppard slides from the bottom, to the top and clear off turn two.

Erb crosses under him off turn two. Erb looks to the inside, he drives it deep into the corner and clear as he catches the cushion.

Lap 5, Sheppard remains within a car length of the leader.

Final lap, Sheppard takes a high entry into turn three. He tries to diamond the exit and get the drive under him off turn four. It doesn’t work.

Main Event – Report

Tyler Bruening and Mason Zeigler set the front row for the main event. Earl Pearson Jr and Stormy Scott will line up at the tail with series’ provisionals.

Bruening won the support class late model feature just ahead of this race. He took that win with an outside pass in turn two. He has 50 laps if practice just ahead of this race.

Mike Marlar has loaded up and is likely done for the weekend. He bent a clip in the heat race crash earlier.

The 50 lap main event will pay $12,000 to the race winner. The field lines up in a four wide salute for the Nebraska dirt racing fans. Fireworks blast and the start is up next…

Green, they run even at corner entry. Bruening drives it deep on the bottom, he slides to the top off turn two and clear.

Tyler Erb is rolling the top. He works around Zeigler and is on the bumper of the leader. Tyler Erb to the lead.

Lap 2, Shannon Buckingham is around on the front and the caution is out.

Green, Erb leads as Zeigler moves to 2nd. Brandon Sheppard holds 3rd.

Lap 8, Zeigler has a run on the leader into turn one. He drives it deep on the bottom, clear and new leader.

Lap 18, Zeigler works heavy lap traffic. Sheppard is closing quickly. He’s there.

Lap 21, Sheppard moves to the lead. Buckingham is slow and the caution is out.

Green, Sheppard leads. Davenport gets a run on Zeigler off turn four and he completes the pass back in turn one.

Lap 25, Davenport is running down Sheppard. Each of them enter turn one high and cut to the bottom on the exit. Davenport is three car lengths back.

Lap 35, the yellow is out.

Green, Tyler Erb is around in turn two. He’s pissed off at someone, unsure who. The caution is back out.
