Stage 1 – Report

Laps: 50 ( 1-50 )

Green flag, Harvick is clear into turn one as they fan out 5 wide behind him.

Lap 2, Erik Jones, Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch run three wide for 3rd. Jones takes that position with a pass on the bottom.

Lap 4, Brad Keselowski heads to the pits under green. He used up too much of the race track on the corner exit. The fenders are pushed in on the tires. More problems as the car falls off the jack.

Lap 17, Larson heads into the traction compound in turn three. He’s the first car to give the sticky lane a try. He enters high and crosses under Hemric to make a pass. Larson started at the tail, he’s up to 12th.

Lap 20, Erik Jones and Kyle Busch head for the pit lane under green with a two tire car.

Lap 38, Kevin Harvick and Denny Hamlin both head to the pit lane. Hamlin was running down Harvick just ahead of this stop. Kyle Busch cycles to the race lead as Harvick is 9 seconds back in 5th.

Kyle Busch cruises to the win in stage 1 at Pocono Raceway!

Stage 2 – Report

Laps: 50 ( 51-100 )

Kyle Busch heads to the pit lane. Kevin Harvick stays out. Hemric wins the race off the pit lane with a two tire call but he’ll restart 9th.

Green flag on stage two, Harvick is clear by a car length into turn one. Hamlin bobbles at the entry to the corner and he falls to 3rd. Newman moves to 2nd.

Kurt Busch has a huge run on Chase Elliott. He looks to his outside, Elliott blocks and Busch tags him in the right rear. Elliott saves it.

Pit cycle

Lap 62, Ryan Blaney is on the pit lane under green for two tires. Lap 69, now Newman pits. Kyle Busch has worked back to 2nd, a second back of the leader.

Lap 79, Kevin Harvick pits for four new tires and fuel.

Chase Elliott is in the wall! He lost a right front tire and pounded the outside wall in turn three.

Kyle Busch stays out as half the field comes to the pit lane. Harvick will restart in 2nd.

Green, Kyle Busch is clear by a car length into turn one. Larson, Bowyer, Bowman and Truex are thinking about making it four wide in turn two, they bail.

9 to go in stage two, the caution is out for rain in the area!

The rain is gone and the lights are out for a 5 late shootout to the stage finish. Green, Busch leads as Johnson swings to 2nd on the outside lane in turn one.

2 to go in stage one, Suarez gets loose under Blaney in turn two. Suarez is up the track and he pushes Blaney into the wall.

Kyle Busch heads to the pit lane. Ryan Blaney spins back in turn three and the caution is out!

Jimmie Johnson takes the stage two win as the coast under caution! The crowd erupts as he crosses the line for his 2nd career stage win.

Stage 3 – Report

Laps: 60 ( 101-160 )

Jimmie Johnson heads for the pit lane. Keselowski is off first. Harvick stays out.

Green flag on stage three, Hamlin is on the bumper of Harvick into turn one. Haevick runs wide and Hamlin crosses under him off the corner.

They trade side drafts heading into turn two. Harvick gets loose on the outside lane and Hamlin moves to the race lead.

Lap 114, Ryan Preece is in the wall in turn one! Preece was sideways with an issue before the corner.

The field heads to the pit lane. Hamlin is first in and Erik Jones is out first. It’s two tires for most. Kyle Busch stays out.

Green, Kyle Busch blocks his way into turn one.

Lap 123, David Ragan has heavy damage. He coasts to the pit lane as the race remains green.

Lap 134

Lap 134, Kyle Busch pits from the race lead. This hands the lead to Erik Jones.

19 to go, Martin Truex Jr has caught the bumper of the race leader. Denny Hamlin is right there with them. Truex stalls in dirty air of lap traffic and Hamlin works to his outside. Hamlin to 2nd.

16 to go, Hamlin looks to the outside of Jones into turn one! He drives right by on the outside to take the lead.

8 to go, Bilicki is stopped on the back stretch and the caution is out!

4 to go

It’s going to be a 4 lap shootout to the finish. Truex lines up alongside Hamlin.

Green, Hamlin leads into turn one as they fan out 6 wide mid pack. Erik Jones takes 2nd.

Kurt Busch is in the wall off turn one! He stuffed Stenhouse in the wall as well. Stenhouse gathers it up and runs him down. He gets into Kurt Busch and turns him around! The caution is out.

Penalty: Daniel Suarez has been handed a penalty for leaving a gap to the car ahead on the previous restart.

NASCAR overtime

It’s going to be a two lap shootout for the race win. Hamlin is low on fuel and he’s not the only one.

Green flag, Larson is on the bumper of Hamlin as they head toward turn one. Hamlin leads.

Larson is loose as Erik Jones gets into his door. Jones to 2nd.

1 to go, Erik Jones is running down Hamlin. Hamlin opens the gap up through turn one.
