Dirt races canceled due to fatal sprint car crash in Pennsylvania
On Friday night, Williams Grove Speedway hosted the Billy Kimmel Memorial 410 Sprints Yellow Breeches 500 & 358 Sprints Summer Series.
Williams Grove Speedway first opened in 1939. The half mile clay oval is legendary in the world of dirt track racing. The track is located at 1 Speedway Dr Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.
Tragedy struck during the Friday night show. According to police, the incident took place around 9:30pm.
Two cars made contact off turn four of the dirt speedway. One of the cars struck the inside wall and was then tossed over the infield fence.
