Stage 1 – Report

Laps: 20 ( 1-20 )

Green flag, Cindric noses ahead into turn one on the inside line. Kyle Busch is on his bumper as they head up the hill. Busch works to his outside. Busch outbrakes him into the bus stop and moves into the lead.

Lap 11, Joey Gase is stalled on the track and the caution is out.

Kyle Busch stays out. Many cars including Custer, Blaney and Allgaier head to the pit lane.

Green, Kyle Busch leads into turn one as they run three wide for 2nd. Christopher Bell moves to 2nd around the outside as he wins that battle into turn two.

Justin Allgaier is around at the bus stop! Ross Chastain jumped the curb and and got into his left rear. The caution is back out.

Green, Busch and Bell run side by side into turn one and Busch wins the battle on the outside.

3 to go, Cendric heads to the pit lane under green.

Final lap, Justin Allgaier is into the back bumper of Ross Chastain! He turns him into the carousel! Chastain is done as he slams into the tire barriers.

Stage 2 – Report

Laps: 20 ( 21-40 )

Most of the leaders head for the pit lane, including Kyle Busch. Busch is first off. The stage 1 winner will restart 15th with new tires. Christopher Bell remains on track, he hasn’t pitted all race.

Green flag on stage two, Bell and Blaney run side by side into turn one. They make door to door contact into turn two. Blaney noses ahead as they work up the hill.

Lap 30, Christopher Bell heads to the pit lane under green.

9 to go, Kyle Busch has climbed all the way to 2nd. He’s chasing down race leader Ryan Blaney, who’s on older tires.

7 to go, Kyle Busch is on the bumper of the race leader up the hill. He works to the inside down the back stretch. They run even into the bus stop. Kyle Busch drives deeper into the corner and he takes the lead.

Kyle Busch has an issue! 100 feet after taking the lead, he can’t turn into the carousel. Busch locks up all four wheels and slides through the grass. He’s able to refire and drive to the pit lane as the caution is out. But, it’s a major mechanical issue.

Green, Blaney and Allmendinger run even into turn one. Allmendinger drives it deep into turn one on the bottom. He runs wide off the corner and pushes Blaney over the curb. Allmendinger leads as Blaney holds 2nd.

Ryan Blaney has minor right front fender damage but he’s trying to run down Allmedinger. He cooks the corner in the chase and Allmendinger opens the gap.

AJ Allmendinger takes the win in stage 2!

Stage 3 – Report

Laps: 42 ( 41-82 )

The leaders stay out as Chase Briscoe pits from 5th. Briscoe will restart in 14th.

Green flag on stage three, Cindric is on the bumper of Allmendinger at the flag stand. Cindric pushes him to the lead them looks to his outside at they run three wide into turn one.

Allmendinger holds the lead out of turn one as Blaney moves to 2nd. Blaney falls to 5th as he runs wide off turn one.

Lap 48, Ryan Sieg is around in the bus stop off the front bumper of John Hunter Nemechek. He continues rolling, no caution.

Lap 49, Ryan Blaney heads to the pit lane. lap 51, Austin Cindric heads for the pit lane. Allmendinger continues to lead. 52 to go, Allmendinger pits from the race lead.

Penalty: Brandon Jones has been posted for driving through too many pits stalls.

Lap 57, Allmendinger and Blaney run side by side into turn seven. They remain side by side, the length of the front stretch. Allmendinger takes the spot in turn one. Currently, it’s a battle for 11th.

19 to go

19 to go, Allgaier is the final car to the pit lane. Austin Cindric cycles to the race lead. Allmendinger runs 2nd, 1.7 seconds back.

16 to go, Allmendinger has cut the gap to 1.4. Tommy Joe Martins locks up the tires into turn one and goes for a spin. No caution as he re-fires.

14 to go, the caution is out for a blown tire in the bus stop. The tire is in the middle of the track. Allgaier is set to restart in 4th with the freshest tires. Cindric pits from the race lead! Briscoe and Blaney also pit.

Green, Allmendinger and Bell run even into turn one. Allmendinger runs wide but holds the lead. Several cars crash behind them and the caution is back out.

Green, Allmindinger leads. Bell, Reddick and Allgaier run three wide for 2nd into turn two. Bell cuts down across the nose of Allgaier. He’s sideways up the hill but saves it! Austin Cindric drives to 2nd!

3 to go, Austin Cindric is on the bumper of the race leader!

2 to go, Cindric looks to his inside out of turn one. Allmendinger runs him toward the inside wall and defends the lead into turn two.

Cindric puts the bumper to him out of the bus stop. Allmendinger runs wide but he’s back on his bumper in turn six. Allmendinger pushes him off the track in turn six.

Allmendinger runs wide into turn seven! Cindric fights back in turn seven and retakes the lead! Cindric is clear and he opens the gap.

Austin Cindric wins at Watkins Glen International!
