Andy Durham, dirt racing engine builder arrested

Fourteen men were arrested last week as part of “Summer Special” operation

Alamance County Sheriff’s Office joined forced with several branches of law enforcement to conduct the “Summer Special” operation. The operation targeted clients seeking acts from the those posing to work in the commercial sex industry.

The groups involved in the sting operation: Alamance County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit, Special Operations Unit, Vice Unit, North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation agents, Burlington Police Department Special Victims Unit and the Department of Homeland Security Investigations.

On August 14th, fourteen men were arrested in Alamance County. The men were all charged with solicitation of prostitution and some will face additional charges as well.

$1,725 in cash was also seized during the operation.

Andy Durham arrested

Of the fourteen men was Andy Dwayne Durham. He was charged with misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution, bail was set at $500.

Durham was previously the Dirt Late Model Program Manager for Roush Yates Engines in Mooresville, NC. In 2014, he moved on to create his own engine shop.

Durham Racing Engines, Inc. now sits in a 10,000 square foot engine shop located in High Point, NC.

They supply engines for many of the top Dirt Late Model drivers in the country. However, their work is not limited to dirt late model racing.

Andy Durham is the owner of Durham Racing Engines.


Fourteen men arrested in Summer Special operation

Here’s the list of charges brought against the fourteen individuals:

Andy Dwayne Durham was charged with misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution.

Richard Jordan Edinger was charged with misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution.

Gary Wayne Hatfield was charged with felony solicitation of prostitution, his second offense.

Christopher Neal Martin was charged with misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution.

Jason Peter Fine was charged with misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution.

Michael Jones 9 was charged with misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution.

Guillermo Mendez was charged with misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution.

James Derek Chiasson was charged with misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution.

Robert Louis Ulmer was charged with misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution.

Salah Khan was charged with misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution.

Jesse James Carty was charged with misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution.

David Author Welch was charged with misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

Gardener Noah Succop was charged with misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and misdemeanor possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

Michael Wayne Sellars was charged with misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution, possession with intent to sell/deliver and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
