Martin Truex Jr fails Dover inspection twice

NASCAR inspection issue ahead of qualifying at Dover International Speedway

This weekend, NASCAR has unloaded at Dover International Speedway. The 1-mile concrete oval in Dover, Delaware.

It’s the first race in the round of 12. Only 12 drivers remain eligible for the championship. Martin Truex Jr is one of the 12 drivers eligible.

Yesterday, Dover hosted two rounds of NASCAR practice. Today, they’ll qualify.

Head of qualifying is NASCAR inspection. This is also an impound race meaning there’s no inspection after qualifying or before the race.

Martin Truex Jr and the Joe Gibbs Racing No. 19 team was the only car to fail pre-qualifying inspection. He failed twice and was able to get through on the third attempt.

A crew member of NASCAR choice will be ejected from the speedway for the duration of the race weekend.

Had Truex failed the third time then he would not have been allowed to qualify. Since he passed, he’ll get to qualify and keep his starting position.

Martin Truex Jr was 2nd quickest in final practice on Friday.
