The 2.66-mile oval of Talladega Superspeedway is set for the green flag.. The Talladega, Alabama race track will host the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series.

The 1000bulbs.com 500 is race number two in the Round of 12 of the NASCAR Playoffs. The car driven by Dale Earnhardt in his last career win is pacing the field with Richard Childress behind the wheel.

Hendrick Motorsports has locked out the front two rows. Chase Elliott will start from the pole position and lead them to the green flag…

Stage 1 – Report

Laps: 55 (1-55)

Green flag, Alex Bowman checks up and Chase Elliott drops to the bottom before turn one. Hendrick Motorsports holds the top four positions around the bottom.

Lap 2, Clint Bowyer is on the bumper of Brad Keselowski. They have a run on the outside and they drive right to the lead. They both drop to the bottom, the field is led by Brad Keselowski.

Lap 4, Denny Hamlin started at the tail of the field after blowing an engine in practice. He’s already cracked the top 5.

Lap 5, Austin Dillon is coming on the outside lane with help from Kyle Busch. He gets a push to the lead and Dillon drops to the bottom.

Lap 6, Kyle Busch has a run on the outside. Hamlin is hung out to dry as Kurt Busch works to his inside. Kyle Busch drops to the bottom and takes the lead.

Lap 7, Kyle Busch leads the field by three car lengths. Austin Dillon and Kurt Busch have a run on him, they split the leader high and low. Dillon is back to the lead.

Kurt Busch works the lead away.

Lap 19, Kevin Harvick is on the bumper of Ryan Blaney. They have a run on the outside. Harvick pushes Blaney to the lead and they drop to the bottom.

Pit cycle

Lap 34, Ryan Blaney leads the Fords to the pit lane. Blaney spins coming to the pit lane! He slides through the gas and keeps rolling, no caution.

Lap 35, the Toyotas head for the pit lane with a group of Chevrolets.

Brad Keselowski leads as the caution is out. Spencer Boyd has come to a stop on the apron.

Green flag, Keselowski leads into turn one. Ryan Newman forms a run around the top, he drives to the lead with a push from Joey Logano.

Lap 44, Clint Bowyer has locked onto the rear bumper of Brad Keselowski. Bowyer pushes him to the lead and clear by five car lengths. It’s too big of a lead. Kurt Busch gets a run on them to fight for the lead.

As they battle it out, Chase Elliott is coming around the top. Lane three moves to the race lead and Elliott drops to the bottom.

Lap 51, They remain three wide for the lead. Byron cycles to the lead as Erik Jones has a flat tire behind them.

2 to go in stage one, the top 10 run nose to tail around the top. That’s opposite of what it’s been all day. Joey Logano heads to the bottom and others follow. He pulls even with the leader.

Final lap in stage one, Logano and Byron trade side drafts down the back.

William Byron holds them off to take the win in stage one at Talladega Superspeedway!

Stage 2 – Report

Laps: 55 (56-110)

The rain is here and the red flag is out. The field returns to the pit lane. The race has now been postponed until Monday…

A day later…

Brad Keselowski gets a push but the car won’t re-fire. He’s able to get it going. The rest of the field heads to the pit lane. Byron is first in and Blaney is first off with a two tire call.

Green flag on stage two, the field forms three wide quickly. Blaney leads on the bottom.

Lap 70, the outside lane is coming. Clint Bowyer leads that train. Blaney tries to block. Logano moves to the lead as Blaney gets shuffled.

Lap 76, Joey Logano is blocking both lanes as he continues to lead. He can’t keep it going as they split Logano. Chase Elliott is back to the lead.

Lap 84, Team Penske has lined up. Brad Keselowski has surfaced back to the front with help with Joey Logano.

Lap 88, Chase Elliott leads the outside line. He works clear and drops to the bottom.

Pit cycle

Lap 90, the Chevrolets head for the pit lane. The next lap, the Toyota group heads for the pits. Lap 94, the Ford group finally heads for the pit lane.

Lap 96, the pit cycle is complete. All the groups are back together once again. Jimmie Johnson leads.

Lap 98, Johnson gets shuffled out of line. Chase Elliott takes over at the front.

9 to go in stage two, Clint Bowyer shoves Logano to the lead on the bottom. Bowyer pushes them clear by 10 car lengths, they’re leaving the field as Bowyer is locked onto his bumper for the whole lap.

5 to go in stage two, Bowyer lifts to cool the engine. The field swarms, Chase Elliott takes the lead on the bottom.

4 to go, Logano has a huge run. Elliott throws a block. They almost crash.

Logano now has a run on Bowman. Bowman throws a block and Logano tags him in the rear bumper. Bowman spins ahead of turn three. He slides to the apron and back up the track. Johnson, Elliott, Larson, Truex and others are collected.

Clint Bowyer will cruise to the stage win as stage two finishes under caution at Talladega Superspeedway!

Stage 3 – Report

Laps: 78 (111-188)

The field heads to the pit lane. Bowyer is first in and Keselowski is first off.

Green flag on stage three, Keselowski leads on the top. Bowyer pulls even on the bottom. Bowyer takes the lead.

Lap 122, Bubba Wallace makes contact with Blake Jones and Jones spins. The caution is out.

Green, Bowyer leads with a push from Keselowski. Kyle Busch has help from Erik Jones on the top. Kyle Busch to the lead.

Logano looks to the outside of Busch. Erik Jones pushes him clear.

Lap 132, the caution is out as debris is scattered all over the track. Martin Truex Jr blew a tire behind the field.

Pit stops

The field heads to the pit lane. Stenhouse is to the pit exit first with fuel only. Kyle Busch is off 2nd with two tires.

Green, Stenhouse leads. He blocks both lanes.

38 to go, Kyle Busch has a run on the bottom. Chase Elliott pushes him clear.

Lap 153, the caution is out as Bowyer spins with a flat tire. He’s stuck on the apron banking.

Pit stops

The field heads to the pit lane. Byron is off first with fuel only.

Green, Byron leads on the bottom.

29 to go, Stenhouse leads a run from the outside lane with a push from Aric Almirola. Stenhouse is clear and he goes to blocking both lanes.

26 to go, William Byron spins on the bottom as several cars push on the bottom. Byron is turned into the left rear of Logano. Suarez, Preece, Crafton, Jones and others are collected.

Green, Kurt Busch pushes Stenhouse clear on the bottom. Stenhouse blocks the top lane into turn three. Kyle Busch pushes Kurt Busch on the bottom. Stenhouse fights back on the top and retakes the lead.

17 to go, Daniel Suarez spins behind the field and through the grass to bring the caution back out.

13 to go

Green, Stenhouse is pushed to the lead on the bottom. Matt DiBenedetto is on the bumper of Kurt Busch around the top. Kurt Busch is clear and he drops to the bottom to lead.

9 to go, Stenhouse drives to the lead as Kurt Busch gets too far out front.

8 to go, Stenhouse blocks the bottom and Kurt Busch pulls even on the top. Kyle Busch leads a charge in lane three. Kyle Busch is clear on the outside lane.

Big crash at Talladega Superspeedway

7 to go, Kyle Busch gets turned off the bumper of Kurt Busch. Kyle Busch catches Brendan Gaughan in the left rear and turns him in front of the field. Gaughan barrel rolls into turn three and lands back on his wheels. Harvick, DiBenedetto, Keselowski, Kurt Busch and others are collected.

All drivers are ok and the red flag is out.

Green, Ryan Blaney gets the jump on the outside. He pulls to the bottom and leads by two car lengths off turn two.

Final lap, Blaney leads Almirola on the bottom.

Ryan Newman has a huge run on the top with a push from Denny Hamlin. Newman to the lead on the outside. Blaney fights back on the bottom.

Coming to the line, Blaney and Newman bangs fenders for the win.

Ryan Blaney wins at Talladega by inches!
