Tonight, it’s night one of the Dirt Track World Championship. The 3/8-mile dirt track of Portsmouth Raceway Park is set for a full weekend of racing.

This weekend at the Portsmouth, Ohio dirt track will conclude the 2019 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series season.

The format for the 2019 DTWC has changed since last year. This time, we’ll see just a single round of heat races on Friday night, passing points are in place.

Saturday will conclude the 2019 season. A round of B Mains will be followed by the 100-lap dirt late model main event paying $100,000 to win.

The first few rows of each field has been inverted following qualifying.

Heat 1 – Report

Billy Moyer Jr and Zack Dohm set the front row in the first heat race of the night. Green, Scott James leads out of turn two.

Lap 4, the caution is out.

Green, James leads as Ferguson takes over 2nd.

Scott James drives off to win the first heat race of the night!

Heat 2 – Report

Justin Rattliff and Ricky Weiss exit the pit gate ahead of heat two. Green, Rattliff noses ahead on the bottom. Weiss is on the gas around the top, he swings to the lead on the outside of turn two.

Lap 2, Blake Naylor is in the turn three wall. The caution is out.

Green, Weiss heads to the top. Davenport heads to the middle and launches through a rut as Rattliff looks to make it three wide.

They run side by side for the lead into turn three. Davenport drives it deep to the bottom. Weiss gets sideways off turn four and Davenport takes the lead.

Lap 6, Rattliff iI slow with a flat tire. The caution is out.

Green, Davenport leads. Tyler Erb drives through a rut at full throttle and bicycles into turn one. Erb holds 2nd off turn two.

Lap 12, Tyler Erb has climbed to the bumper of the leader. Davenport eases it into the corner as Erb drives it far deeper.

Erb can get to his bumper but he can’t find a way by.

Final lap, Erb drives it deep into turn one. The noses washes up the banking and Davenport opens the gap off turn two.

Jonathan Davenport wins heat race number two!

Heat 3 – Report

Scott Bloomquist and RJ Conley set row one in heat three.

Green, Bloomquist leads on the bottom as Conley washes high into turn one.

Lap 4, Josh Richards has a lane to himself around the top. He’s the only car up there but he’s making it work.

Lap 6, the caution is out.

Green, Bloomquist leads. Conley bobbles off turn two and Junghans nearly gets into the back of them. Richards dives under both of them into turn three, move him to 3rd.

Lap 12, Bloomquist leads Richards by 20 car lengths.

Bloomquist drives off to win heat three!

Heat 4 – Report

Don O’Neal and Jared Hawkins trail the pace truck ahead of heat four.

Green, Hudson O’Neal comes from row two to lead on the bottom into turn one. False start.

Green, Don O’Neal leads. Hudson O’Neal takes 2nd.

Lap 2, Hudson O’Neal and Hawkins make contact into turn one as O’Neal comes down across his nose with a move to the bottom lane. They both have to collect it. Mike Marlar drives by them both to take over 2nd.

Lap 12, Marlar is closing on the leader. But, he’s about out of time.

Don O’Neal drives to tthe win in heat four!

Heat 5 – Report

Chub Frank and Devin Moran swe row one in heat five. Green, Frank leads on the bottom.

Moran all but stalls on the cushion. Earl Pearson Jr drives into his door as a result. Pearson has a narrow entry into turn three, he loses several spot.

Lap 7, Shane Clanton is coming around the top. He’s up to 2nd after starting 5th. Clanton looks to the outside of the leader into turn three. They run even at the line and

Clanton leads back into turn one.

Lap 9, Pearson iI slow with heavy right rear damage and what looks like a flat right rear.

Green, Moran drives it deep to the bottom in turn one. He pulls even with Clanton but can’t complete the pass. Chub Frank tags the wall lightly off turn two and Dennis Erb Jr nearly gets into the back of him.

The leaders head back into turn one. Moran pulls slightly ahead this time but Clanton has the momentum around the top off turn two. Moran makes light contact with his left rear.

Lap 10, the caution is out for a spin back at the flag stand.

Green, Clanton leads Moran by a car length into turn one.

Clanton opens the gap and drives off to win heat five!

Heat 6 – Report

Dave Hornikel and Jason Jameson lead the field to the flag stand in the final heat race of the season. Green, Jameson leads into turn one.

Hornikel bobbles on the top and Pierce gets into the back of him.

Lap 3, Pierce moves to 2nd around the top. McCreadie is using the same lane and moving forward. McCreadie is up to 4th after starting 6th.

Lap 8, McCreadie is slow with a flat tire. He heads to the pit area.

Green, Pierce has a look on the bottom for the lead. He pulls to the left rear of Jameson but can’t complete the pass. Kyle Bronson takes 3rd.

Lap 11, Hornikel is around in turn two and the caution is back out.

Green, Pierce drives it deep to the bottom. He noses ahead by inches off turn two. Pierce drives it deep into turn three and completes the pass for the lead.

Bronson moves to 2nd. McCreadie iI slicing through the field. McCreadie to 3rd.

Bobby Pierce wins the final heat race of the night!
