There’s been an issue ahead of qualifying. Martin Truex Jr has failed pre-qualifying inspection twice. As a result, the No 19 team has lost their car chief for the rest of the weekend.
Additionally, Kevin Harvick failed pre-qualifying inspection on the first attempt. The team then passed on the second attempt.
However, Stewart-Haas Racing didn’t like something they saw on the car. They elected to fail themselves and make changes. On the third attempt, they failed again.
As a result, Kevin Harvick will not be allowed to partake in NASCAR qualifying.

Qualifying – Report
Laps: 1
Group A qualifying consists of the bottom 20 qualifiers from the previous week. Their order in this session is set by random draw.
Drivers are full throttle in qualifying. The rules package has seen a 200hp reduction in addition to increased downforce.
To make things faster, shade has rolled over the speedway. That’s added additional grip to the race track.
Kansas Qualifying Times – Group A: 1. Daniel Hemric (30.329); 2. Michael McDowell (30.408); 3. Bubba Wallace (30.452); 4. Kurt Busch (30.518); 5. Kyle Busch (30.548); 6. Denny Hamlin (30.631); 7. Ty Dillon (30.634); 8. Chris Buescher (30.803); 9. Matt DiBenedetto (30.879); 10. Ryan Preece (30.880);
Group B
Group B will consist of the top 20 qualifiers from the previous week. Their order is also set by random draw.
Everyone is cutting under the apron through the tri-oval as they complete their lap. Most of them are also doing it as they take the green flag.
Alex Bowman is bouncing his car all over the race track on his lap. He’s in a near must win situation this weekend. He lands 9th with a handful of cars remaining.
Ryan Blaney jumps to 2nd on the board. He didn’t pinch off the exit of turn two or the entry to turn three like the other drivers. His teammate Joey Logano, sits outside the top 20. Blaney has far less drag and Logano has far more downforce.
Martin Truex Jr is the 2nd to last car to take to the track. He’s trending in the green into turn one. It moves in the wrong direction through the corner.
Daniel Hemric will start from the pole position at Kansas Speedway!
