On Friday, it was reported that 21-year-old, Cole Custer will move to the Stewart-Haas Racing No. 41 in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series.

Custer was asked about that on Friday. He deflected the question, saying he was focused on this weekend. Custer is one of four drivers competing for the championship in the NASCAR Xfinity Series this weekend.

27 year old, Daniel Suarez was born in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico. He is the 2016 NASCAR Xfinity Series Champion.

Suarez came up through the ranks in a hurry, winning races and championships for the NASCAR K&N Pro Series on his way up. He’s now run 107 MENCS races, with a best finish of 2nd.

A few hours after Custer ignored the report, Daniel Suarez took to his social media to confirm…

Daniel Suarez comments on the departure from Stewart-Haas Racing

“I’m here to confirm the bad news that some of you guys already know. And some of you guys are trying to figure it out,” Daniel Suarez opened via a social media video.

“I won’t be back next year in the #41 car. It was a shock late last night (Thursday night). I can promise you I worked my heart off to make this happen. To try to put everything together and the team did as well.”

“We just were not able to put all the funding and sponsors together. We were extremely close. But, we just weren’t quite there. We just ran out of time.”

“I’m extremely disappointed for the outcome. I’m sure something else will be waiting for me.”

“When I moved to this country back in 2011, I had a dream. That dream was to race in NASCAR, to win races and to win championships.”

“I have accomplished that. But, not yet in the Cup Series. But, I’m sure I will. We just have to work extremely hard to put all the pieces in the right place.”
