Most of the day was a washout. But, now we’re finally going racing.
NGOTS Championship 4: Stewart Friesen, Ross Chastain, Brett Moffitt and Matt Crafton.
NGOTS Distance: 201 miles (134 laps); Stage 1 (Ends on lap 30), Stage 2 (Ends on lap 60), Final Stage (Ends on lap 134).

Stage 1 – Report
Laps: 30 (1-30)
Green flag, Stewart Friesen gets the jump on the inside line. He’s clear by a truck length into turn one.
Friesen heads for the middle. Ross Chastain is on the gas around the bottom. Chastain pulls to his left rear and has momentum off the corner. Chastain drives by down the back stretch.
Lap 17, Chastain rolls the high side of the truck. Friesen is on his bumper and having a look on the bottom but he can’t keep the momentum off the corner to complete the pass.
8 to go, Chastain is loose around the top. However, he’s opened the gap to Friesen.
5 to go, Austin Hill is suddenly charging to the front! He drives by Friesen for 2nd and he’s on the bumper of the leader. Hill has a look on the bottom into turn three, Chastain cuts to the bottom and cuts him off.
2 to go, Hill fakes a move to the bottom into turn one! Chastain drives all the way to the bottom as Hill rolls the top. Chastain is loose off the corner. Hill cuts under him off the corner and completes the pass into turn three.

Stage 2 – Report
Laps: 30 (31-60)
The field heads for the pit lane. Austin Hill is first in fifth off. Brett Moffitt wins the race of f the pit lane.
Green flag on stage two, Moffitt leads into turn one. Hill takes Friesen and Crafton three wide into turn one. Chastain comes off turn two with momentum. Chastain looks under Moffitt and he takes the lead before turn three!
Lap 42, Crafton and Hill are all off the bumper of Ross Chastain for the lead. Hill dives to the bottom and nearly clears both of them off the corner, Hill to 2nd.
Lap 43, Hill dives to the bottom in turn three. He pulls even with Chastain off the corner and completes the pass into turn one.
11 to go in stage two, Ray Ciccarelli has smoke coming out of the back of his machine and the caution is out.
Green, Hill gets the jump. Chastain spins the tires on the outside and falls to 4th.
5 to go, Crafton works to the outside of Hill into the corner. They remain side by side for one lap, two laps and Hill finally holds him off.

Stage 3 – Report
Laps: 74 (61-134)
The field returns to the pit lane. Austin Hill is first in and first off. Eckes and Rhodes stay out.
Green flag on stage three, Eckes holds them off early as they fan out three wide behind him.
Lap 76, Crafton and Friesen have closed to the bumper of Eckes for the lead.
Lap 84, Austin Hill has driven by Crafton and Friesen to take over 2nd. Hill climbs to the bumper of Eckes for the lead. The leader is on 30 laps older tires and continues to hold them off.
Lap 90, Austin Hill has a run on the leader into turn one. He dives to the bottom and clear. New leader, Austin Hill.
Pit cycle
Lap 98, most of the leaders head for the pit lane all at once. The next lap, Austin Hill pits from the race lead.
Lap 104, Matt Crafton cycles to the race lead.
25 to go, Crafton leads with Austin Hill on his bumper. Chastain is the next best championship contender, he’s 4th and 7 seconds back of Crafton.
22 to go, Austin Hill drives to the bottom on Crafton. He takes the lead with ease.
10 to go, Hill leads Crafton by 1.5 seconds.
Austin Hill drives off to the win at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Matt Crafton is the 2019 NASCAR Truck Series champion!
