NASCAR Xfinity Series results from the championship race at Homestead-Miami Speedway

Today, the 2019 NASCAR Xfinity Series season comes to a close in Homestead, Florida. The 1.5-mile of Homestead-Miami Speedway is set for the championship event.

The NASCAR Xfinity Series only had about 10 minutes of practice before the rain came on Friday. Most of these teams are guessing in the setup, in the most important race of the season.

NXS Championship 4: Justin Allgaier, Christopher Bell, Tyler Reddick and Cole Custer.

Tyler Reddick and Cole Custer set the front row. The championship contenders will lead them to the starting line. 200 laps of stock car racing are up next…

Stage 1 – Report

Laps: 45 (1-45)

Green flag, Tyler Reddick gets a push from Brandon Jones on the outside lane. Reddick is clear into turn one.

Lap 5, Ray Black Jr is up in smoke. Smokes fills the cockpit and he can’t see where he’s going. Black Jr cuts it to the infield and slides through the grass to bring out the caution.

Green, Reddick noses ahead at the launch but Custer pulls even into turn one. Custer is working the bottom but he can’t beat the high side momentum off the corner.

Lap 15, Tyler Mathews is in the wall. He blew a left front tire, tagged the wall and brought out the caution.

Green, Custer has a run to the bottom into turn one. Once again, Reddick holds him off on the top. Christopher Bell is three wide behind them as he takes over the 3rd spot on the outside lane.

Lap 30, Reddick leads custer by 1 second.

Lap 33, the yellow flag is out. A piece of debris is stuck under the wall and sticking out. NASCAR is going to go retrieve that.

Pit gamble

Tyler Reddick and Cole Custer head to the pit lane. Bell and Allgaier stay out. Reddick will restart in 14th.

Green, Gragson has a run on the inside. He clears Christopher Bell and takes the lead. Custer runs three wide into turn one behind them.

6 to go, Reddick is up to 2nd! Custer is on his bumper. Chase Briscoe heads to the middle, he drives to the outside of Reddick as they all drive by Gragson. Briscoe leads, he’s also on new tires.

2 to go, Custer dives to the bottom into turn one. He pulls even with Broscoe but can’t get the drive off the corner. 1 to go, same move, same result.

Stage 2 – Report

Laps: 45 (46-90)

Chase Briscoe, Cole Custer and Tyler Reddick stay out. Haley pits from 3rd. Nemechek is first off but will restart 7th.

Green flag on stage two, Reddick is clear before turn one.

Lap 54, Austin Cindric is on fresher tires and he’s the first of the one’s that pitted to cycle to the front. He drives by Reddick with ease. Bell takes over 2nd, also on fresher tires.

Lap 61, Cole Custer heads to the pit lane under green. He has a loose right rear.

Lap 79, John Hunter Nemechek has a flat right rear. He heads to the pit lane under green.

3 to go in stage two, Custer is running down the leader. He’s just trying to un-lap himself.

1 to go, Custer has un-lapped himself. There’s a crash behind them and the caution is out.

Stage 3 – Report

Laps: 110 (91-200)

The field returns to the pit lane. Cindric is first in and Bell is first off.

Green flag on stage three, Bell gets the jump on the outside with a push from Noah Gragson. Bell heads to the bottom. Gragson sticks with the top. Gragson has the momentum and gets to his right rear off the corner. Bell leaves the lane open and Gragson shoots to the race lead on the outside.

Debris on track and the caution is out.

Green, Gragson leads as Bell works the bottom. Allgaier is three wide behind them.

Reddick is closing on both of them. Reddick works his way back to the race leader. Christopher Bell moves to 2nd.

Lap 123, Chase Briscoe has lightly tagged the wall. He had just passed Custer for 3rd. He’s lost a right front tire and the caution is out.

Pit stops

Tyler Reddick leads the field to the pit lane. Christopher Bell is first to the pit exit.

Green, Reddick throws a block on Noah Gragson. Bell takes the lead off turn two.

Lap 130, Reddick throws it to the bottom. He skates up the banking but can’t clear Bell.

59 to go, Bell leads by a half second. Tyler Reddick is inches from the outside wall. He’s glued to the high line and he’s found speed. Bell is still running two car lengths off the outside wall.

57 to go, Bell moves up against the wall. He sees Reddick coming.

53 to go, Reddick is within a car length of the leader. Custer has climbed to the bumper of Reddick. The top three run nose to tail, all are in a fight for the championship!

49 to go, Reddick enters high in turn three, he cuts to the middle and looks under Bell off turn four. They run even at the line and Reddick completes the pass into turn one.

Bell tries to cross under him. That sacrifices his corner exit speed and Custer moves to 2nd.

Pit cycle

41 to go, Christopher Bell heads for the pit lane but he misses the pit entry! Justin Allgaier pits as well.

38 to go, Tyler Reddick and Cole Custer head for the pit lane. Custer beats him to the pit exit line! Reddick is on the gas around the apron, he’s racing him off the apron! Bell jumps on track and forces Allgaier to weave around him.

Bell still cycles ahead of them both. Reddick, Custer and Allgaier run three wide for what will be 2nd.

34 to go, Custer is on the bumper of Bell for the lead. Custer looks to the middle and completes the pass. Reddick moves to 2nd as Bell falls to 3rd.

20 to go, Custer leads Reddick. Both of them run inches from the outside wall. They continue to trade brushes with the outside wall as dust flies.

19 to go, Reddick slides Custer for the lead! Custer crosses under him and slides him back. Reddick crosses under him and retakes the lead!

13 to go, Justin Allgaier is in the outside wall and he’s picked up a flat tire. He heads to the pits under green.

8 to go, Tyler Reddick leads Custer by 2.2 seconds.
