Super Late Model starting lineup set for 2019 Snowball Derby at 5 Flags Speedway
It’s night two of the 2019 Snowball Derby at 5 Flags Speedway. The half-mile track welcomed the open wheel modifieds as the headline class for Friday night.

2019 Snowball Derby: Menu

Three classes took to the track on Friday. The modifieds were the main event. Super late models were on track for two practice rounds and set their starting lineup via two qualifying groups. The Snowflake division also took to the track for two rounds of practice.
Augie Grill drove to the win in the modified division. It’s the third year in a row that he’s won the 75-lap modified main event.
Grill took the lead three different times throughout the race. With 30 to go, he passed pole sitter Cody Stickler for the final time and drove off to lead the remainder of the event.
The super late model starting lineup has been set. Derek Thorn has taken the pole position for the Super Late Model division. Cole Butcher will line up on the outside row.
Corey LaJoie is making a start on the short track this weekend. He’s improved in every session all week and he’ll start 3rd in the main event.
Grill, the winner of the modified division on Friday also qualified for the super late model event, he’ll start 21st.

Stephen Nasse explains why he threw his helmet at his own pit crew
