Scott Bloomquist Racing joins World of Outlaws Late Model Series in 2020

Scott Bloomquist and Chris Madden are set for the World of Outlaws Late Model Series in 2020; New major sponsor Drydene

2004, that’s the last time Scott Bloomquist ran full-time with the World of Outlaws Late Model Series. But, that’s going to change.

Bloomquist picked up the WoOLMS championship in 2004. From there, he went several seasons without running for a title. He returned to the nation scene 10 years ago. In 2009, 2010 and again in 2016 he picked up the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series championship.

Now, Scott Bloomquist Racing, as a whole, will hit the road with the Outlaws in 2020. Chris Madden and Scott Bloomquist each welcome a new sponsor, Drydene and announce 2020 plans.

“It’s exciting,” Scott Bloomquist said. “I have such a high-percentage win ratio for my first visits to tracks. It’s in the 70-some percent.”

“There’s a number of tracks I haven’t been to, and I like that, that’s exciting to me. If I can come back and pull off a championship that would be awesome. Hopefully one of us will,” Bloomquist concluded.

The deal and plans were announce in the Drydene Performance booth at the PRI show on Thursday.

“This deal with Drydene is going to allow us to go after the ultimate goal, which is a national title. This is the first time that Scott has been on the tour in a long time, I think 2004. For Chris, this is his chance to go for the big one,” Cody Sommer added.

“We started some negotiations a couple months ago. As everybody knows in this business, you start negotiations in summer-early fall for what you’re going to be doing next year,” said Dave Klinger, President of Drydene Performance Products

“I am thrilled to announce that we are now partnered with Scott Bloomquist Racing. It’s a multi-year deal. We will be a major sponsor for quite a few of the races he runs in 2020 and an associate sponsor for all of the races.”

“As the other part, we’re bringing on Chris Madden to a mult-year deal,” Klinger said.

Chris Madden on 2020 plans

Chris Madden has just under 250 wins in his dirt late model career.

Madden has been running and dominating the Drydene Xtreme Dirt Car Series in recent weeks. That series was re-fired as a winter series. It further removes any resemblance of an off-season.

In 2020, Drydene will become the primary sponsor for Chris Madden.

“We don’t have much time for sure. But, we never stop racing and we never stop thinking about racing,” Chris Madden stated.

“Obviously, my goal is to win the championship,” Madden said. “I was close in ’18 and we fell out of five races. If we could go back, and I had not fallen out of those races, we would have got a championship that year. So, I want to win it, and this is the team I want to win it with.”

“To have guys like Ricky, Chris and Scott with the talented guys we have running with the tour. Ricky was down to the wire this year and should have had a couple wins. I know the resources are going to make a big difference to his program,” said Ben Geisler, Chief Marketing Officer of the World of Outlaws

“I consider Chris an Outlaw. He’s been with us the last three years. He couldn’t finish this season but certainly a championship contender in 2017 and 2018. A couple things go a different way, maybe Chris sits here as the champion.

“This might be his chance to get his first national championship. He’s gotta go through guys like Brandon Sheppard, Chase Junghans and Darrell Lanigan.”

“Scott brings a lot to the table obviously. We’re excited to have all of them.”

Ricky Weiss was crowned the 2019 World of Outlaws Late Model Series rookie of the year. Last week, it was announced that Weiss would also receive banking from Drydene.

“We are thrilled to have Ricky Weiss on-board with team Drydene. We signed a multi-year deal with Ricky so he’s going to be with us a few years,” the Drydene President added.

The World of Outlaws Late Model Series tour has been won by Brandon Sheppard in the previous three seasons. He’ll have a new set of competition for 2020.

The 2020 WoOLMS season kicks off in January at Vado Speedway Park in Vado, New Mexico. Jan 3-5 will open the season schedule before heading to Florida in early February.
