Chili Bowl
Main Event – Report

The field gets a push to the race track. Shane Golobic and Michael Kofoid set the front for tonight’s main event.

Christopher Bell is the obvious favorite any time he’s in a race on this particular track. He already picked up a win earlier in the week via the VIROC. However, he’ll start 6th, deep in the field for this one.

30 laps of dirt sprint car racing are up next…

Green flag, Golobic takes the early lead.

Lap 3, Thomas Meseraull is rolling on the cushion. He’s closing on the leader.

Golobic pushes off the bottom and moves to the top, just across the nose of Meseraull. Meseraull crosses under him off the corner and takes the lead.

Lap 4, Cole Bodine and Shane Cottle tangle and the caution is out.

Green, Meseraull leads Seavey.

Lap 5, Christophr Bell is rolling the top just behind them. Seavey moves to the top and takes that line away.

Lap 9, Bell runs the top. He cuts to the bottom, drives it deep and slides Seavey for 2nd.

Lap 12, Bell has run down the race leader in a hurry. He cuts to the bottom, slides him and clear.

Meseraull fights back but Bell holds him off.

Lap 21, Bell works heavy lap traffic.

Lap 25, Bell leads Meseraull by 1.4 seconds. Seavey closes on Meseraull for 2nd.

Lap 28, lap cars run side by side ahead of the leader. But, he has plenty of a gap back to 2nd.

Coming to the white, Bell makes light contact with a lap car but he straightens it out.

Christopher Bell wins in the Chili Bowl Nationals!
