Chevrolet introduces the 2020 Corvette Stingray, the brand’s first-ever production mid-engine Corvette, Thursday, July 18, 2019 in Tustin, California. The 2020 Stingray features a new 6.2L Small Block V-8 LT2 engine producing 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque when equipped with performance exhaust. Rick Hendrick purchases No. 001 Corvette C8
The 2020 Corvette looks radically different than previous Corvettes. That’s mostly due to the engine location. It’s the first model to feature an engine behind the driver instead of under the hood.
This particular C8 that Hendrick purchased is maxed. 3LT package options include black exterior, black seats with red trim, red seat belts, GT2 seats, removable roof panel, rear spoiler, Performance Data Recorder and the Z51 package.
It’s fitted with the Z51 performance package which includes things like Brembo brakes to bring the 495-hp 6.2-liter V8 engine to a stop.
