East Bay Raceway Park Results: February 3, 2020 (Lucas Late Models)

Race Report

Tim McCreadie and Devin Moran set the front row for tonight’s main event. They lead the field out of the pit area.

$5,000 is on the line for tonight’s feature winner.

Jonathan Davenport has unloaded the backup car between the B Main and main event. He’ll start toward the back regardless.

30 laps of dirt late model racing are up next…

Green flag, Moran gets the jump at the line. McCreadie runs it deep to the bottom in turn one. They run even off turn two.

They remain side by side but McCreadie noses ahead on the bottom.

Lap 2, Chase Junghans is slow in turn four and the caution is out.

Green, McCreadie leads on the bottom. Brandon Sheppard pulls to his right rear into turn one but he cant make it stick off turn two. McCreadie leads into turn three.

Lap 8, McCreadie works lap traffic. He forces it to the inside if the lapper in turn one. Sheppard moves to the top and they split the lapper. McCreadie holds the spot.

Lap 10, heavy lap traffic ahead. Most of them run the bottom. McCreadie gets pinned behind them. Sheppard works to his outside and takes the lead.

Lap 13, Mason Zeigler is slow and the caution is back out.

Green, McCreadie spins the tires, he falls to 3rd but quickly takes 2nd away from Moran.

Lap 15, Kyle Bronson is rolling the top and coming in a hurry. Most of the leaders run the bottom and he has the lane to himself.

Lap 16, Bronson takes 2nd from McCreadie. He’s closing on Sheppard for the lead.

Lap 19, Bronson has a run off the top in turn two. He works to the right rear of Sheppard. He leaves the lane open and each of them race side by side, deep into turn three.

Caution. Sheppard will get the lead back.

Green, Sheppard heads for the top into turn one. Bronson drives it deep to the bottom in turn one.

It’s a slider! Sheppard stomps the brakes as Bronson was going to slide across his nose. Sheppard points it to the bottom and crosses under Bronson off turn two.

Bronson fights back with another slider in turn three. He’s clear. Bronson takes the lead once again.

Lap 21, Brian Shirley is parked against the outside wall in turn three and the caution is back out.

Green, Bronson heads for the top. Sheppard diamonds the corner and has a run off the bottom of turn two.

Sheppard noses ahead via the bottom lane as they down the backstretch. They make contact into turn three! Sheppard is around with his door to the field!

They all avoid him. The caution is out and Sheppard will go to the tail.

Sheppard pulls alongside Bronson under caution to hand signal his frustration with the 40B.

Green, Moran drives it deep to the bottom in turn one. He slides Bronson for the lead.

Tyler Erb is there with them. They run three wide for the lead into turn three. Bronson jumps the cushion and falls to 4th.

Moran takes a defensive line into turn three. Erb crosses under his rear bumper and forces it to the bottom.

Tyler Erb slides Moran into turn three. Erb knocks a rut at the exit of turn four and Moran cuts underneath him to retake the lead.

Moran is driving away.

Lap 28, the caution is out!

Green, Moran leads. Erb and Bronson fight the ruts as Davenport is looking to take the spot from both of them. Davenport has charged all the way from the tail!

Devin Moran opens the gap as they fight hard for 2nd. Moran wins night one at East Bay Raceway Park!
