East Bay Raceway Park Results: February 5, 2020 (Lucas Late Models)

65 cars have unloaded in the pit area. That’s the highest car count so far this week. More than half of them will load up early.

Race Report

Tim McCreadie and Jonathan Davenport set the front row for the main event. They lead the field out of the pit area.

Kyle Bronson will start on row two. This is his home race track. He had a great night on Monday. He ran into issues on Tuesday and looks to stay at the front tonight.

Earl Pearson Jr, Stormy Scott, Mike Marlar and Chris Garnes all take providionals.

Brandon Sheppard had been at the front all week. Tonight he’ll be coming from 12th just to make it interesting.

40 laps of dirt late model racing are up next…

Green flag, McCreadie leads on the bottom into turn one. Caution and false start on McCreadie.

Green, McCreadie leads Davenport. But Davenport has a run off the top as they exit turn two. Davenport to the lead in turn three.

Lap 3, McCreadie is on the bumper of Davenport. He gets the drive off turn four and wins the race into turn one.

Davenport is hanging with him on the top. They run side by side for the lead.

Lap 6, car around in turn three and the caution is out. Davenport was the leader at the line.

Green, Davenport launches from the middle lane. He cuts down the track before the line and makes light contact with the right front of McCreadie.

Dennis Erb Jr slides MCCreadie for 2nd into turn three. Davenport leads by three car lengths.

Several cars stack up at the flagstand. The caution is out. Johnny Scott, Stormy Scott, Mike Marlar and others are involved.

Green, Davenport leads Erb and McCreadie.

McCreadie has a run on Erb off turn two but Erb shuts the door. Back into turn one, Erb to the bottom as McCreadie knocks the cushion. He gases the center and pulls even with Erb off turn two. McCreadie takes 2nd.

Lap 12, McCreadie is all over the bumper of Davenport for the lead. He dives to the bottom into turn three and pulls even. They run side by side for the lead.

Lap 14, Billy Moyer Jr is around in turn three and the caution is back out.

Green, Davenport leads. McCreadie and Erb rub doors into turn one and McCreadie nearly spins.

Lap 17, Davenport leads by a full straight away as  they battle for 2nd.

Lap 18, Brandon Overton slides McCreadie into turn one for 2nd. McCreadie tries to cross under him off the corner but Overton holds the spot.

Lap 20, most of the leaders are glued to the top. The bottom has slicked off with plenty of cushion to work with.

Lap 23, Boom Briggs is slow and the caution is back out. He’s dropped oil all over the track.

Green, Davenport leads. McCreadie and Overton run side by side for 2nd. McCreadie retakes 2nd on the top lane.

Lap 27, Davenport leads by five car lengths. McCreadie is hanging with him.

Lap 28, Tim Dohm is around in turn three. The caution is out.

Green, Overton is clear for 2nd into turn one. He slides to the cushion. McCreadie is coming fast with momentum. McCreadie moves over the cushion and forces himself to the outside of Overton. They dont crash off turn two and McCreadie takes 2nd.

Lap 33, Davenport leads McCreadie by 5 car lengths.

Lap 35, Davenport is in the wall off turn four!

Kyle Bronson is coming hard with nowhere to go. He slams into the back of Davenport and jacks him clear off the ground.

The front nose folder under the front wheels of the race leader. It wouldn’t turn off turn four.

The red flag is out. All drivers are ok but Kyle Bronson lost his carborator as he went under the rear of Davenport.

As they roll, Richards has a flat. He heads to the pits from inside the top five.

Green, Overton slides McCreadie into turn one. He noses ahead but can’t clear him. McCreadie drives by with the outside momentum off turn two.

McCreadie open the gap. Overton is under fire from Sheppard for 2nd.
