The Great American Race, the biggest race of the stock car season. And this one will be put on display in front of a sold out 100,000+ crowd.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr and Alex Bowman locked out the front row via qualifying on Sunday. For the rest of the field, qualifying only set their lineups in last night’s Daytona Duel events.
Duel 1: Joey Logano drove to the win in Duel 1. Almirola locked onto his rear bumper as the other lanes failed to organize. Logano was pushed to the win in Duel one. He’ll start behind Ricky Stenhouse Jr on the inside lane.
The finishing positions of Duel 1 set the inside row.
Duel 2: In Duel 2, William Byron, Kurt Busch and Jimmie Johnson locked bumper late in the event. Kevin Harvick contemplated a block but thought better of it.
As Harvick left the lane open, all three cars drove by. William Byron went on to take the win in Duel 2.
Duel 2 set the outside starting positions in the Daytona 500. William Byron will lineup behind teammate Alex Bowman.
