Xfinity Qualifying
Report

The field has been split onto two groups for NASCAR Xfinity Series qualifying. The first 20 cars were outside of the top 20 in points in the 2019 season.

Their order in this group has been set at a random draw.

AJ Allmendinger and Ross Chastain are both well off the pace in qualifying. Over 2 seconds off the pace. Both cars run for Kaulig Racing. There’s something wrong, both drivers sit at the bottom of the board.

More issues for Kaulig Racing as Chastain pulls into the pit lane. The left front is completely locked up as he pulls into the garage.

The wheel has caught fire. Safety workers are spraying it to kill the fire.

Both Kaulig cars had the same issue. Allmendinger may not qualify for the race due to a lack of points.

Ryan Sieg is quickest as group A qualifying concludes.

Group A – Xfinity Qualifying Times: 1. Ryan Sieg (48.021); 2. Caesar Bacarella (48.242); 3. Jesse Little (48.526); 4. Alex Labbe (48.589); 5. BL McLeod (48.691); 6. Jeff Green (48.705); 7. Vinnie Miller (48.827); 9. Timmy Hill (48.835); 10. Chris Cockrum (48.837);

Group B

Myatt Snider jumps to the top as group B is underway. Snider is making his first career NXS start.

Justin Haley is on track. The driver was a little concerned as he’s the third Kaulig car. However, no issues for him as he runs 2nd so far.

Myatt Snider takes the pole position in his first career NASCAR Xfinity Series start!

Only 36 cars start the event. That means both Ross Chastain and AJ Allmendinger will fail to qualify for the event. Both of those cars were favorites heading into today’s race.

On the other hand, it’s a blessing for Mike Harmon, who will now start last in the event.

Update: Jeff Green qualified 23rd. However, he will be moving to the pit box. Ross Chastain will fill that seat as he’s worked out a deal with the team.
