Myatt Snider: “I’m the kind of guy that believes in racing people how you’re raced.”
Noah Gragson turned Myatt Snider in the NASCAR Xfinity Series event at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

The spin was deliberate, there’s no arguing that. Gragson said he felt that he was blocked too many times and decided he’d had enough.
After the race, Myatt Snider came over to Gragson’s car to have a talk. At the end, Gragson put out his hand for a fist bump. Yet, he was left on read as Snider turned and walked away.

“It was just some hard racing between the two of us and we got into each other, so I think we both can look forward to the next couple of races and stay out of each other’s ways,” Gragson said via SiriusXM NASCAR Radio on Tuesday.
“I think we’re both at fault. It was a long race, none of us were going to give and we’re going to go on to California and run as good as possible and do as good as we can.”
As for the post-race conversation:
“I told him, let’s play rock, paper, scissors. I went with rock and he still hasn’t gotten back to me if he wants scissors, paper or rock.”

“It, to me, just seemed like some impatience on Noah’s part,” Snider told Sirius XM NASCAR Radio.
“I had gotten into a rut and was trying to figure out how to make the car faster but at that point in time, I didn’t. So he was running me down and he actually had a run on me going to the frontstretch.”
“So I was, ‘Okay, he’s going to go by me.’ Then I felt a little yoink in the left rear quarter and around I was going.”
“It’s kind of unfortunate it had to go down that way, that’s not racing to me. But I’m a big believer in karma and what goes around, comes around. We’ll be performing at our best over these next couple of weeks and I’m not worried about it.”
“I’m the kind of guy that believes in racing people how you’re raced,” Snider said. “I’m not going to take any kind of stuff like that. If (Gragson) wants to send that kind of message early, then game on.”

Dale Earnhardt Jr spoke on the incident via the DaleJr Download, “I reach out to Noah, I was like, ‘Ok man, if you’re going to spin somebody out, you gotta do it in the turn. And you definitely do not do it while you’re wearing a helmet cam pointing directly at the steering wheel.’ “
“I don’t condone wrecking a guy. I’ve done it though. So, I’m not going to be hypocritical and say, ‘Don’t ever wreck a guy.’ I’m not able to control what my drivers are going through in the cars.”
“They all have different breaking points and what they’re able to put up with. They gotta learn from this experience. It’s a good experience for Noah to go through this.”
“I said, “If you’re going to spin somebody out it’s best not to admit it immediately on the radio. Don’t ever give NASCAR any opportunity to react. Once you’re out of the car, don’t try to make up some story a couple days down the road. It’s obvious to everyone, what happened. Just own it and say you’re racing hard and he got the worst end of the deal.’ “
“I gave Noah quite a bit of advice on what he did wrong and what he should consider going forward.”
RCR crowd is a tough bunch
Myatt Snider drives for Richard Childress Racing.
Dale Earnhardt Jr continued, “I told him, ‘RCR guys are a tough bunch.’ They’re not going to mess around. The ‘hold my watch thing’ I was expecting one of those moments after the race.”
Richard Childress got into a bar fight in the 1970’s. Ever since then, he always takes his watch off.
Such as the time team owner Richard Childress punched Kyle Busch for wrecking Kevin Harvick and the RCR car at Darlington Raceway. That incident went back to Homestead when Harvick spun Kyle Busch.
Dale Earnhardt Jr concluded, “I’m sure at some point, Noah will look at this and go, ‘I couldn’t have handled that worse. I did a terrible job at trying to spin somebody out.’ “
To further complicate things, Dale Earnhardt Jr works on the broadcast team with Marty Snider, father to Myatt.
Last weekend
Over the weekend, NASCAR visited Auto Club Speedway. Myatt Snider showed up in a shirt to poke fun at the situation.
