Race car driver launches into the air; Lands on brand new pace car (Videos)

Dramatic scenes as Florida racer is launched airborne

Citrus County Speedway is a 3/8-mile asphalt oval. The track is located in Inverness, Florida.

On May 7th, the track opened up their 2020 season. Winded Outlaws, Pure Stocks, Mini Stocks, Street Stocks and Ford Outlaws were on the ticket.

The Mini Stocks stole the show.

Gary Holliman Sr, from Ft. McCoy, Florida, was leading into turn one. But, they came off turn two, three wide for the lead.

Holliman Sr got loose off the corner or he was attempting to pinch them down on the exit. They ran out of room in a hurry.

Holliman Sr was turned and heading toward the infield with his foot on the gas.

On the infield of the track, dirt berms surround the light poles. The Mini Stock driver launched over the dirt berm and clear into the air.

The driver rode across the sky before coming to a crash landing, on top of the brand new Ford Mustang pace car.

Everyone survived the crash with minor injuries to the Mini Stock driver.

The pace car was supplied by Crystal Ford. It was completely smashed in the impact. However, the airbags did go off and the pace car driver was ok.

The track commented on the accident: “Last night things got a little haywire as a Mini Stock launched into our Crystal Ford Mustang Pace Car! Thankfully, everyone is ok!! The driver did set the bar pretty high for next weekend’s Night of Carnage though!!”
