Atlanta Motor Speedway is a fast 1.54-mile oval. The track was last repaved in 1997. Harsh winters have beat on the surface over time, making it one of the most abrasive tracks on the schedule. Tires wear out in a hurry and that’s great for racing.

NASCAR Altanta Rules Package: The high downforce package is back again this weekend. 8 inch rear spoilers will be installed once again and the larger front splitters will also return. It’s the opposite rules package of last week’s short track event.

The Atlanta NASCAR track has a seating capacity between 71,000-125,000 and none of them will be in use.

The coronavirus has canceled or postponed large gatherings all over the world. Of note, sporting events have been hit hard by the spread of the virus.

The NBA recently postponed their entire 2020 season. The NCAA final four will be held without basketball fans in attendance. F1 teams have pulled out of events and later this month, the open wheel motorsport will run a race with fans banned from entry to the track.

Earlier this week, NASCAR released a note of new guidelines and policies in a reaction to the virus.
