NASCAR iRacing Series Results: March 29, 2020 (Texas Motor Speedway) Video

It’s week two of the online racing series featuring the stars of NASCAR

Today, the NASCAR iRacing Series returns. This week, the field is ready for the green at the virtual Texas Motor Speedway.

This time, drivers will get only one reset. Checking that setting will repair all damage, they can use it only once.

William Byron and Dale Earnhardt Jr set the front row. 125 laps of virtual NASCAR racing are up next…

Race Report

Green, Byron gets the jump on the inside lane. Dale Jr slots in 2nd and drops to the bottom.

Lap 10, John Hunter Nemechek has a run on Earnhardt into turn one. Nemechek to 2nd. He climbing to the bumper of the leader.

Ryan Blaney side drafts Kyle Busch down the back stretch. He tags and turns Busch into turn three. As they slide across the track, several cars are collected. No caution.

Lap 27, Austin Dillon and Bobby Labonte bang bumpers off turn four. Christopher Bell checks up and Michael McDowell gets into the back of him. Bell bounces off the outside wall and spins to the infield.

Pit stops

The field heads to the pit lane. Byron is first in and first off.

Green, Byron gets the jump as Nemechek and Kligerman run side by side for 2nd.

Lap 39, Anthoney Alfredo is turned into turn three and the caution is out.

Pit stops

William Byron takes 2 tires. Denny Hamlin and Chase Elliott stay out.

Penalty: Dale Earnhardt Jr is caught speeding on pit road.

Green, Hamlin leads. Elliott gets a run on him off the corner, with a push from Byron, Elliott leads.

Lap 45, Byron works under Elliott off turn two. Byron to the lead with ease.

Lap 52, Ryan Preece works to the inside of Byron and he pulls Nemechek with him. Preece leads.

Lap 61, Nemechek looks to the inside of Preece for the lead off turn two. Preece pinches him down in turn three but he can’t hold him off. Nemechek leads.

Lap 67, Byron has a run off turn two. He looks to the inside of Nemechek and leads into turn three.

Pit cycle

Lap 87, John Hunter Nemechek pits under green for 2nd. That starts the green flag pit cycle.

Lap 88, Byron pits from the lead.

20 laps to go, Dale Earnhardt Jr leads William Byron by 5 seconds. Earnhardt Jr is the only car that hasn’t pitted.

19 to go, Earnhardt Jr pits and William Byron cycles back to the race lead. Timmy Hill trails by 2 seconds.

16 to go, Daniel Suarez is around and the caution is out.

Pit stops

The entire field heads for the pit lane. Byron is off first with four tires.

Green, Byron leads Timmy Hill.

10 to go, the caution is out. Clint Bowyer and Greg Biffle tangle to bring out of the caution.

Green, Byron leads Hill by two car lengths into turn one.

4 to go, Hill is all over the bumper of Byron into turn one! He pushes him up the banking and Hill drives to the lead on the inside!

3 to go, several cars tangle and the caution is out. That’s will set up an overtime finish.

Green, Hill gets the jump. He opens a two car length gap to Ryan Preece.

Final lap, Preece climbs to the bumper of Hill. Preece is leaning on his rear bumper off turn four.
