Tonight, it’s the debut of the Lucas Late Models on iRacing. The virtual Knoxville Raceway hosts the series opener.

Real-world dirt late model racers are set for the green flag. Jonathan Davenport, the defending Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series champion is set to make his online debut.

Kyle Larson is a late arrival. Hauler issues and he made it just in time for qualifying.

Heat 1 – Report

Dedmon and Larson set the front row. Green, they run even into turn one.

Larson pinches Dedmon down off the corner. Larson leads through the middle. He drops to the inside lane and takes control of this heat.

Lap 4, Dedmon is beating on the inside burm. He’s all over the rear bumper of Larson with no hole to get through.

Lap 6, Larson moves wide and opens the door for Dedmon. They remain side by side for the lead. Larson noses ahead once again, this time he stays on the top.

Lap 8, the high side is now the preferred groove.

Kyle Larson pulls away and takes the win in heat 1!

Heat 2 – Report

Rod Tucker gets the jump on Garrett Alberson. David Seiners follows Tucker through on the top to take over 2nd.

Lap 4, Payton Looney tags the wall off turn two. No caution.

Lap 8, Seiners has caught the bumper of the leader. They run nose to tail around the cushion.

Rod Tucker opens the gap and takes the win in heat two!

Heat 3 – Report

Green, Corey Gordon gets the jump on Nick Stroupe. Gordon slides from the bottom to the top into turn one.

Trent Ivey sticks his nose in on the bottom, move him to 2nd.

Lap 4, Ivey slides Gordon into turn one. He doors him! Gordon is pushed up the track and Ivey takes the lead.

Trent Ivey cruises to the win in heat three!

Heat 4 – Report

Brett Ladehoff and Derek Drymon lead them to the starting line in the final heat race of the night. Green, Ladehoff gets the jump.

Hudson O’Neal looked to the middle to make a three wide run for 2nd. O’Neal gets the worst of that as he drops to 6th. Derek Drymon holds 2nd.

Lap 4, Drymon is all over the bumper of Ladehoff for the race lead.

2 laps to go, Drymon has his right rear on the wall and his nose under the fuel cell of Ladehoff for the lead.

Final lap, Drymon has a run off turn two. They run even into turn three. Drymon slides him and clear. Ladehoff crosses under him off turn four.

They run side by side and bang doors at the line. Ladehoff wins by inches!

Lucas Feature Report

The track has been completely reset ahead of the feature event. No consolation races, all 29 cars make the feature.

These cars are running a fixed setup. Equal equipment and equal setups from the front to the back of the field.

Kyle Larson and Rod Tucker set the front row and lead them to the starting line. No fuel stop, 100 laps of dirt late model racing are up next!

Green, Larson is clear before turn one. Trent Ivey and Tucker run side by side for 2nd behind him.

Lap 4, Dedmon slides Larson for the lead into turn one. Larson crosses under him and retakes the lead. Both of them lose momentum. Trent Ivey slides them both and he takes the lead!

Lap 10, several cars tangle and the caution is out. Davenport got sideways and stacked up the field. Several cars ran out of room in a hurry and four of them piled on top of each other.

Green, Trent Ivey leads.

Stovall tangles with Seiners and the caution is back out.

Green, Ivey leads. Dedmon holds 2nd.

Caution as Corey Gordon rolls in turn two. He hits escape under his own power. Devin Gilpin has been sent to the rear by officials.

Green, Rod Tucker drives it deep to the bottom in turn one. He pulls even with Ivey but can’t get the drive off the corner. Ivey holds the lead.

Lap 32

Lap 32, Tucker clears Ivey on the bottom. The track is getting wider in a hurry.

Lap 34, Ivey is shoved in the wall as he tries to fill a hole on the outside of a lap car.

Lap 36, Shirley tags the wall off turn four. Pierce comes into the scene and makes heavy contact. Several others pile into Shirley as he’s stopped on the track. The caution is out.

Green, Tucker leads. Stroupe runs them three wide for 2nd and he takes that spot. Stroupe makes contact with the wall and Kevin Dedmon moves back to 2nd.

Lap 53

Lap 53, Dedmon has climbed to the rear bumper of Tucker for the lead. Dedmon noses on the bottom, doors him and they run even for the lead just as the caution drops out.

Lap 75, Nick Stroupe to the race lead! He’s been working the cushion all by himself, with the right rear right on the guardrail. Stroupe was the only one running that high, he made it work.

Lap 79, Tucker slides Stroupe for the lead! They stack each other up and Ladehoff is right back in the battle!

Lap 81

Lap 81, Dedmon works to the inside of Tucker. He muscles him off the inside burm with a bit of door to door contact and Dedmon leads.

10 to go, the top three run nose to tail around the bottom. Dedmon continues to lead.

2 to go, Tucker moves to the top. He’s bouncing it off the wall, trying to find some speed. He catches too much of the wall and Dedmon opens the gap.
