Mets pitcher Marcus Stroman says Kyle Larson ‘needs his ass beat’
MLB player Marcus Stroman is looking to swing on NASCAR driver Kyle Larson.
NASCAR is on a break due to the coronavirus. Drivers and fans have turned to the digital world as an outlet. iRacing is an online racing simulator, the medium of the outlet.
Larson was in a digital race at the Monzo oval on Easter Sunday and used the n-word on a public audio channel.

Update: NASCAR’s only African-American driver comments on Kyle Larson’s n-word usage
The 27-year-old thought he was speaking to his personal spotter on a private audio channel. Or he was having mic issues.
However, the use of the n-word was instead run across the public channel. All 61 other drivers in the race heard the use of the word in addition to all the racing fans watching online.
The next day, Larson was suspended by Chip Ganassi Racing, the No. 42 team. An hour later, he was suspended indefinitely from NASCAR with the requirement to attend sensitivity class.
By Monday afternoon, Larson issued a video apology.
On Tuesday, sponsors like McDonalds and Chevrolet began to pull the plug on their deal with the driver. This put the team owner in a further bind.
Larson has piloted a Chip Ganassi Racing car since his full-time debut with the series in 2014. Despite interest from Tony Stewart and other team owners, Larson stuck with Chip Ganassi for being the first one to give him a shot.
Tuesday, Chip Ganassi Racing was forced to fire Larson. The driver is now looking for a new ride as NASCAR is scheduled to return to action in May.
Larson was one of the hottest drivers in the sport and was soon to become a free-agent at the end of the 2020 season.
