Lucas Oil Late Model iRacing Series Info: Kokomo Speedway (April 17, 2020)

The Lucas eSports Series returns tonight at the Kokomo Speedway bullring

Tonight, the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series returns to the digital world. It’s round two of the Lucas eSports Series.

Kokomo Speedway is a 1/4-mile dirt oval in Indiana. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series visited the track for the first time in 2019 and it was a thriller from start to finish.

Brandon Sheppard

Sheppard is set to make his debut with the Lucas eSports division.

Brandon Sheppard was running weeks ago in the early additions of the various online racing series. However, he was then pulled from the seat and Logan Seavey was surprised to pilot the Rocket 1 machine.

Sheppard is back with a new ride. Team owner Mark Richards has Sheppard setup in a new rig. It was assembled at the Rocket 1 Racing shop and has since been moved to Sheppard house.

Richards was originally going to buy a new rig. He was later contacted by a friend that had one. Richards then went out and got the computer to go with it.

“We put together some stuff from different people because there’s not parts available for them,” Mark Richards told the World of Outlaws this week. “Amazon’s out of everything, and anywhere that normally would have stuff in stock that you could have used, like Best Buy, all that stuff is gone right now because of this crisis and people have bought it up.”

“The image of the Rocket1 house car and [being competitive] – there’s a big history as far as that car goes,” Richards said. “It’s like anything else, you want to represent your sponsors in a respectful way. You want your sponsors to be seen as successful on the car.”

Sheppard is the current point leader in both the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series as well as the World of Outlaws Late Model Series.
