Today, the iRacing NASCAR Series returns. Richmond Raceway is set for the eNASCAR Pro Invitational featuring real-world NASCAR stars.

Race details: No resets, fixed setups, 30 drivers, 150 laps.

Dale Earnhardt Jr wasn’t going to run this event. He wanted to make room for more full-time drivers. However, due to the early low car counts, he’s elected to run the event. Same for Bobby Labonte.

Chase Elliott had an issue with his rig in qualifying, he’ll be coming from the back. Ryan Preece and Landon Cassill set the front row. 150 laps of digitial stock car racing are up next…

Race Report

Laps: 150

Green flag, Ryan Preece leads on the inside into turn one. William Byron follows him through and takes over 2nd.

Ty Dillon is around. No caution.

Lap 15, the field runs along the inside line. Preece leads Byron by 0.25 seconds.

Lap 26, Chris Buescher has an issue into turn one. His front wheels are cranked to the left. He spins and collects Kevin Harvick. That was likely an equipment issue.

Pit stops

The field heads for the pit lane. Preece is first in and first off, four tires for all.

Green, Preece leads. Byron cuts aggressively to the bottom and tucks in behind him into turn one.

Spin behind them! Alex Bowman runs wide and gets loose off turn two. He collects Ross Chastain and they both spin toward the inside wall.

At the same time, Bubba Wallace makes contact with Clint Bowyer. Bowyer spins down the back stretch and collects the wall into turn three. The caution is out.

Green, Preece leads. Byron drops to his rear bumper once again, crossing from the outside lane.

Caution behind them, Kurt Busch checks up into turn one as he approaches the bumper of the car ahead. Joey Logano gets into the back of him as a result. Kyle Busch and Ryan Blaney are also collected.

Green, Preece leads. Timmy Hill holds 2nd this time as Byron isn’t able to get to the bottom.

Lap 48, Byron works to the inside of Hill and takes 2nd back away.

Lap 57, Byron has climbed to the rear bumper of Preece for the race lead. Byron runs wide in turn three. He builds momentum and crosses to the bottom into turn one. He can’t quite complete the pass.

Lap 60, Byron runs wide into turn one. He late apexes the exit of the corner and cuts under Preece off turn two. Byron wins the race to the bottom into turn three, Byron takes the lead.

52 to go, the caution is out. Matt DiBenedetto looks to the inside of Ryan Preece. They fight for space and Preece is around into turn one.

Pit stops

The field heads for the pit lane. Byron wins the race to the pit exit, Timmy Hill is 2nd to the line.

Brad Keselowski was pushed through his pit stall by Dale Earnhardt Jr. He’s forced to backup. Keselowski falls outside the top 10, he was 4th.

Green, Byron leads. Parker Kligerman follows him through and takes over 2nd.

37 to go, Ryan Preece spins Matt DiBenedetto, retaliation. DiBenedetto is off the throttle and coasting around on the apron. As Preece rolls by, DiBenedetto gases it and returns the favor. The caution is out as they play bumper cars.

Penalty: Matt DiBenedetto has been parked!

Pit stops

Parker Kligerman heads to the pit lane. Timmy Hill and most of the field follows. William Byron stays out!

Kligerman will restart outside the top 5.

Green, Byron gets the jump. Christopher Bell holds 2nd as he follows him through.

23 to go, Suarez turns Garrett Smithley, no caution.

21 to go, a light bump from Erik Jones to Christopher Bell and Jones takes over 2nd. Byron leads by 0.5 seconds.

17 to go, Timmy Hill is on the bumper of Erik Jones for 2nd. He looks to the inside and Jones gives him the spot. Kligerman and Hamlin follow him through. With 10 laps fresher tires than the leader, Hill, Kligerman and Hamlin run 2nd and 3rd. Byron leads by 1.1 seconds.

5 to go

5 to go, Byron leads Timmy Hill by 1 seconds.

4 to go, the caution is out! Christopher Bell is spun on older tires. 5 plus cars are collected.

NASCAR OVERTIME

Green, Byron gets the jump. Hill tucks right on his bumper into turn one.

Final lap, Byron leads by a car length. Hill drives it deep into turn one but misses his bumper.
