Tonight, Saturday Night Thunder returns. The field of real-world racing drivers are set to tackle the 2.5-mile virtual oval of Talladega Superspeedway!

What is Saturday Night Thunder? Sunday’s eNASCAR event filled up with full time NASCAR Cup Series drivers in a hurry. At a result, NASCAR created a second race each week for Xfinity Series, Truck Series, ARCA Menard Series and other divisions of NASCAR.

No Cup Series regular is allowed in this event. This is the race for everyone else.

Saturday Night Thunder
Talladega – Report

(57 Laps – 1 Reset)

Kyle Weatherman and Chase Briscoe set the front row. 57 laps of superspeedway racing are up next…

Green, Weatherman leads on the bottom. Briscoe pulls to the side and lets the whole field go by. Briscoe will be riding at the tail as they are bound to crash ahead.

Lap 3, Alex Labbe leads the train on the outside lane. Kyle Weatherman still leads on the inside line.

Lap 5, big crash! 10 plus cars are collected as one was shoved out of line into turn three. He bounced off the outside wall and came back across the track to collect the field. Many will be using the reset button early.

Kyle Weatherman pits from the lead. Christian Eckes will take over the lead ahead of the restart.

Green, Eckes leads on the bottom. Anthony Alfredo gets a push from Stenzel on the outside. Alfredo noses ahead and he drops to the bottom to lead the inside line.

Lap 13, Labbe gets a push from Stenzel on the outside lane. Labbe is clear but he remains on the high lane.

Lap 14, Alfredo noses back ahead on the bottom. Christian Eckes drops out of the inside lane and jumps to the top. He catches the bumper of Stenzel to lead the outside lane.

Lap 15, Alex Labbe pushes Eckes clear. But, Labbe drops to the bottom before Eckes can. Labbe leads on the bottom.

Lap 20

Lap 21, Alfredo noses ahead on the top. He drops to the bottom as the new leader. It’s short lived as Eckes works back to the front.

Lap 28, Stephen Leicht heads to the pit lane. He’s all alone though.

Lap 29, Noah Gragson gets turned into turn three! He’s stuck in the digital fence and the caution is out.

Pit stops

Eckes leads the field to the pit lane. He’s first in and first off.

Green, Eckes leads by two car lengths into turn one. Bayley Currey is connected with Labbe and Currey takes the lead off turn two.

23 to go, Eckes leaves the bumper of Currey and jumps up to lead the outside lane. Eckes gets a push, he clears the bottom and drops down to lead on the inside.

20 to go, Allgaier gets shoved out of line and they run four wide for 5th. Donny Lia is around and several cars are collected. The caution is out.

15 to go

Green, Eckes leads by two car lengths into turn one. But, the top line disappears as everyone drops to the bottom. Eckes leads Labbe at the front.

14 to go, Brandon Brown gets a push to the lead on the outside. He drops to the bottom but he’s not clear! Brown turns himself across the nose of Eckes. Half the field is collected and the yellow flag is out.

Josh Berry leads them to the restart.

Green, Berry leads with Alfredo on his bumper.

9 to go, Tyler Ankrum has a huge push from Logan Seavey on the outside lane. Ankrum and Seavey are both clear. Ankrum is jacked sideways and he drops to the bottom. Seavey to the lead! Ankrum takes it back on the inside.

7 to go, Todd Gilliand is around and it’s another big crash. Gilliland was turned as he pinched down on Labbe. They were four wide.

Green, Ankrum leads with a huge push from Logan Seavey!

Ankrum is turned off turn two! Logan Seavey was all over his bumper as they rolled down the backstretch. Half the field is collected.

Overtime

We’re going to overtime…

Green, Seavey leads on the inside with a push from Huffman. Josh Berry is linked to Alfredo on the outside.

Final lap, three cars on the outside line and two on the bottom.

Alfredo is around off the nose of Berry into turn three! Seavey leads on the bottom.

Huffman looks to the outside off turn two! Seavey is blocking hard on the bottom. Seavey gets turned in the tri-oval!

Huffman wins at Talladega Superspeedway!
