eNASCAR Pro Invitational results from Talladega Superspeedway

Today, we’re set to go racing at Talladega Superspeedway. It’s the eNASCAR Pro Invitational Series at the 2.5-mile in virtual Talladega, Alabama.

Corey LaJoie was fastest in qualifying. However, he will not start from the pole position. The top 10 cars have been inverted ahead of the green flag. Daniel Suarez will start from the pole with Matt DiBenedetto on his outside.

Additionally, the top three finishers from last week will all go to the tail. William Byron, Timmy Hill and Parker Kligerman will all head to the back.

William Byron is going after three wins in a row. If he wants to make it three, he’ll have to drive through the whole field to do it.

Race Report

Laps: 70

Update: Due to a glitch. The top 10 have not been inverted. Corey Lajoie sets the front row with Landon Cassill on his outside.

Green flag, they run even into turn one. Chastain give a bigger shove to Lajoie and the inside lane noses ahead off turn two.

Lap 5, Denny Hamlin has to check up in the draft. He pulls out of line and shoves Erik Jones into the grass. They all continue, no caution.

Lap 8, Ty Dillon leads on the bottom with a push from Corey LaJoie. Alex Bowman leads the train on the outside with a push from Chris Buescher.

Lap 10, Corey Lajoie abandons the bottom. He moves up a lane to catch the nose of Bowman. But, Bowman heads for lane three and leaves LaJoie in the middle by himself.

Brad Keselowski to the race lead. Bowyer is on his bumper.

Lap 16, Ty Dillon is on the bumper of Ricky Stenhouse Jr down the back stretch, Stenhouse to the lead. As he pushes on the right side of the rear bumper, Stenhouse gets turned ahead of the field! Multiple cars are collected and the caution is out.

Pit stops

The field heads for the pit lane. Brennan Poole wins the race to the pit exit.

Green, Keselowski gets the jump. He drops down in front of Poole and leads off turn two.

Kyle Busch and others pull out of line and drop right to the back.

Lap 26, Byron pulls off the bottom to catch the nose of Bowyer on the outside lane. Byron noses ahead but Bowyer has to lift as his temps are too hot.

Lap 28, Poole leads the lane on the top with a push from Byron. Poole gets sideways after a push through the tri-oval. He slides to the bottom lane and collects the leader of Keselowski. Both cars are pushed to the apron but they’re still rolling straight, no caution. Chase Elliott leads.

Lap 30, Brad Keselowski rolls below the yellow line, works under Johnson and turns him, no caution.

36 to go, Byron has climbed from the tail of the field to lead them event. Teammate Alex Bowman is on his bumper.

33 to go, Kligerman to the lead.

Bowyer has blown up from the race lead! He comes to a stop in turn one. John Hunter Nemechek takes over the lead.

Pit cycle

John Hunter Nemechek pits from the race lead under green. The pit cycle is underway. Chris Buescher is handed the lead.

Chris Buescher and Corey Lajoie head for the pit lane. Earnhardt Jr takes over the lead.

17 to go, Dale Earnhardt Jr, Kevin Harvick, Brad Keselowski and others heads for the pit lane under green.

16 to go, John Hunter Nemechek cycles back to the lead with William Byron on his bumper.

14 to go, the caution is out. Poole turns Chase Elliott and they head down the banking to collect Jeff Gordon. Gordon is stuck in the fence.

Aric Almirola misses a shift under caution! Clint Bowyer runs into the back of him as do others.

9 to go

John Hunter Nemechek and William Byron set the front row.

Green, Nemechek leads on the bottom. Ty Dillon jumps out to lead the outside lane. Smithley drives right around him and to the lead.

4 to go, Ty Dillon gets shuffled to the middle. Chase Elliott is forced out of line as a result, he drops outside of the top 10.

3 to go, Joey Logano is turned into turn one after contact with Ryan Preece. Ryan Blaney and ten others are collected.

NASCAR Overtime…

Alex Bowman will be the leader at the restart with Ty Dillon on the outside. But, he’s low on fuel.

Green, Bowman jumps to the outside to block the outside lane. Ty Dillon crosses him and drops to the bottom! Dillon noses ahead on the inside.

Bowman fights back on the outside with a push from Ryan Preece.

Final lap, Bowman leads with Preece on his bumper. Bowman stays on the outside.

Ty Dillon pulls even with Bowman into turn three. Dillon is turn through the tri-oval!

They fan out three wide coming to the line! Alex Bowman wins, by inches!
