The 1-mile of Dover is the oldest racing surface on the NASCAR schedule. It eats tires.
The top-3 finishers from last week will line up at the tail of the field.
Ross Chastain was 10th quickest in qualifying. However, the top 10 have been inverted. Chastain will line up on the pole position with Garrett Smithley to his outside.

Race Report
Green flag, Chastain gets the jump and he’s clear by four car lengths into turn one. Nemechek is moving through the field quickly behind them.
Kligerman to the lead.
Lap 13, the caution is out. Suarez got loose off turn two and slid toward the inside wall. Harvick and move ran into him as he bounced back across the track.
Pit stops
The field heads for the pit lane. Denny Hamlin takes just 2 tires.
Green, Hamlin gets the jump as Kligerman holds 2nd.
Lap 21, Kligerman has a look on the inside of Hamlin into turn one. Hamlin slams the door. They’re all over the bumper of the leader after that two tire call.
Lap 23, Timmy Hill has a look under Kligerman for 2nd. Kligerman pulls down to block and Hill drives right into the rear bumper. Kligerman is in the wall and the caution is out.
Pit stops
The field returns to the pit lane. Four drivers stay out and William Byron will lead them to the restart.
Green, Byron is clear by two car lengths into turn one. Cassill holds 2nd.
Lap 33, Ross Chastain jacks Matt DiBenedetto dead sideways into turn one. DiBenedetto bounces off the apron and straightens it out, no caution. DiBenedetto is one of the cars that stayed out on old tires, they’re beating his bumper clear off.
Lap 40, Ryan Preece is one of the top 3 finishers from last week. He had to start this race at the tail as a result. He just cracked the top 5.
Lap 42, the caution is out. Erik Jones and Kyle Busch tangle.
Pit stops
Garrett Smithley is the only driver to take two tires. Byron will restart 2nd with four.
Green, Byron crosses under Smithley into turn one and takes the lead with ease.
Lap 52, the caution is back out. Kurt Busch got loose off turn two. They ran three wide around him and Busch was sent to the inside wall. Harvick is among the cars collected.
Pit stops
William Byron heads for the pit lane. Smithley stays out again, with others. Byron restarts 5th with two tires.
Green, Smithley leads. Byron is charging through the field behind them.
Lap 67, Byron works under Hill for the lead off turn two. They make light contact as the track funnels narrow off that corner. Byron leads.
Lap 72, the caution is out. JJ Yeley blew an engine. Christopher Bell, Kyle Busch and others drove right into the back of him as they had nowhere to go.
Pit stops
The entire field heads for the pit lane. Hill wins the race to the pit exit!
Green, Hill leads Byron into turn one.

73 to go, the caution is out once again. Johnson caught the apron off turn four. He bounced off the inside wall, back across the track where he caught Buescher and Kligerman.
Green, Hill leads Byron and Nemechek.
51 to go, Byron is all over the bumper of Hill for the lead off turn two. Byron tucks out of line dives to the inside in turn three and takes the lead with no contact.
44 to go, Suarez clears himself across the nose of Bowman, not clear. Suarez turns himself into the outside wall. Several cars are collected and the caution is out. Austin Dillon and Joey Logano are among those collected.
Pit stops
The field returns to the pit lane. Byron is first in and first off.
Green, Byron leads.
36 to go, Kyle Busch has crashed and multiple cars are collected. The caution is out.
Green, Byron leads Hill.
16 to go, the caution is out. John Hunter Nemechek retaliates on Denny Hamlin is collected. Dale Earnhardt Jr and many others as well.
Pit stops
Many head for the pits. Some take two tires. Byron will restart in 5th with four.
Green, William looks to the inside of Landon Cassill. Cassill is around as he tried to block. No caution.
8 to go, Byron is on the bumper of Hill for the race win!
Byron has a look to the inside in turn one. Hill blocks.
7 to go, Byron looks inside of Hill into turn three, Byron is clear.
5 to go, Christopher Bell works inside of Hill for 2nd. Byron leads by four car lengths.
