Eldora Speedway to open 2020 season next weekend

June 4-5-6 hosts the season opening event with a $50,000 finale

Eldora Speedway is a half-mile dirt track in the state of Ohio. So far, the track has yet to drop a green flag.

Instead, legendary events have been replaced by cancellations and postponements. Most recently, the Dirt Late Model Dream was postponed until 2021.

On Thursday morning, the track was given permission to open the facility. June 4-6, 2020 will be the official 2020 season opener, with a responsible, spectator-free event.

The 67th season will now begin with the Dirt Late Model Stream Invitational. A 67-lap main event paying $50,000-to-win with be the finale of the race weekend.

Total purse for the three-day event is set at $202,000. Thursday and Friday night feature’s will pay $10,000 to win.

“We are excited and thankful to have the opportunity to put on what we believe will be the marquee Dirt Late Model race of the entire summer,” said Tony Stewart, who is entering his sixteenth year as owner of Eldora Speedway.

Stewart added, “Our partnership with FloSports allows us to deliver to our loyal fans and competitors, both the lifeblood of Eldora.”

All campgrounds and parking lots will remain closed during the event. This is a spectator-only event.
