Brad Keselowski and Aric Almirola set the front row after the random draw. They lead the field to the starting line for 500 laps of stock car racing…

Bristol Race
Stage 1 – Report

Laps: 125 (1-125)

Green flag, Brad Keselowski leads on the outside lane. Almirola falls all the way to 6th as he takes it very easy on the bottom lane and through the traction compound.

Lap 6, Ryan Newman is around and the caution is out. He lost it on his own as the backend stepped out.

Green, Keselowski leads as Truex takes over 2nd on the top.

Lap 17, Truex Jr is all over the bumper of Keselowski for the race lead. Both drivers run right through the center of the track. Truex attempts to diamond the exit and cut under him but he doesn’t force the issue.

Competition caution

Lap 20, the first competition caution is out. Denny Hamlin is the first car to pit, he pits from 6th.

Green, Keselowski leads on the outside as Truex struggles to get the power down on the bottom.

The entire field is glued to the bottom lane. Old Bristol is back as the traction compound is now activated.

Competition caution

Lap 60, the second and final competition caution is out.

The field heads for the pit lane. Keselowski is first in and first off. Matt DiBenedetto is the only car to stay out.

Pit penalties: Kyle Busch and Daniel Suarez are caught speeding on the pit lane.

Green, DiBenedetto and Keselowski run even into turn one. Keselowski retakes the lead on the bottom.

Lap 84, Ryan Blaney is all over the bumper of Keselowski for the lead. Blaney gets just an inch to his inside into the corner and Keselowski gives him the bottom lane.

Lap 104, Chase Elliott runs wide into turn three and he cuts to the bottom off turn four. He crosses under Blaney and wins the race to the bottom into then next corner. Elliott leads.

Chase Elliott takes the win in stage one of the NASCAR Cup Series event at Bristol!

Stage 2 – Report

Laps: 125 (126-250)

The field returns to the pit lane. Ryan Blaney wins the race to the pit exit and Elliott is off 2nd.

Pit penalty: Matt DiBenedetto is caught speeding on pit lane.

Green flag on stage two, Blaney leads.

Lap 170, Brad Keselowski is working the top and coming in a hurry. Blaney moves up to the top to block. It’s hist first time up there in a while and Blaney gets loose as he gets too high. Keselowski cuts under him and retakes the lead with ease.

Lap 198, Ryan Blaney is looking for the lead from Keselowski. Blaney runs high off the exit of the corner and he catches into the marbles!

Blaney spins and the caution is out. As he sits parked, Ty Dillon comes in and knocks the entire front nose off Blaney’s machine.

Pit stops

The field heads to the pit lane. Keselowski is first in and Chase Elliott is first off.

Green, Chase Elliott gets the jump on the outside as Keselowski spins the tires.

Lap 212, Joey Gase spins on his own and the caution is back out.

Green, Elliott leads on the outside. Kevin Harvick climbs to 2nd.

Lap 217, Joey Gase is stopped on the apron and the caution is out.

Green, Elliott leads and Joey Logano climbs to 2nd on the outside of Harvick.

Lap 224, Logano looks inside of Elliott and Elliott gives him the lane. Logano gets loose into the next corner! He doors Elliott as he slips off the bottom. Elliott holds onto the lead.

Big crash

Lap 229, Ricky Stenhouse Jr checks up behind Kenseth and Johnson gets into the back of Stenhouse off turn two.

Stenhouse makes heavy contact with the inside wall and then he bounces back across the track to collect the field. Cole Custer, Kurt Busch, Tyler Reddick and Alex Bowman are all torn up.

Green, Elliott leads.

14 to go in stage two, Hamlin is looking for the lead on the bottom. Elliott defends on the top.

Ryan Preece catches the wall and the caution is back out.

Green, Elliott opens the gap as they fight for 2nd.

Stage 3 – Report

Laps: 250 (251-500)

The field returns to the pit lane. Chase Elliott is off first with Logano on his bumper. 11 cars stayed out.

Green, Hamlin leads into turn one and Kyle Busch takes 2nd.

Lap 269. the caution is out as Chris Buescher has cut a tire and slammed the outside wall.

Green, Hamlin leads Kyle Busch. Chase Elliott is getting aggressive as he slices through the field with newer tires.

Lap 278, Kyle Busch looks to the inside of Hamlin for the lead, Hamlin gives him the spot.

Lap 329,. Austin Dillon has a flat and he bounces off the outside wall to bring out the caution.

Pit stops

The field heads to the pit lane. Kyle Busch is first in and first off.

Green, Kyle Busch leads Hamlin off turn two.

Lap 355, Ryan Newman gets into the marbles and spins to bring out the caution, no damage.

Green, Hamlin and Kyle Busch run even off turn two. Hamlin has the mometum off the top in turn four, Hamlin leads.

Lap 400

100 to go, Hamlin, Kyle Busch and Johnson run nose to tail around the top.

85 to go, Kyle Busch uses the lap cars as a pic and he takes the lead. Hamlin drops to 2nd as he’s boxed in.

68 to go, the caution is out as Kevin Harvick and Erik Jones tangle. Harvick had a flat and the car went straight into the corner.

Pit stops

The field heads to the pit lane. Hamlin and Johnson win the race to the pit exit.

Pit penalty: Christopher Bell has been hit with an uncontrolled tire penalty.

Green, Hamlin leads into turn one.

57 to go, Elliott is all over the bumper of Hamlin for the lead. Elliott has a run off turn four. Hamlin gives him the bottom and they remain side by side for the lead.

43 to go, Gray Gaulding is in the wall and the caution is out.

Green, Hamlin leads as Logano moves to 2nd.

Trouble behind them! Martin Truex Jr, Aric Almirola and Michael McDowell are in the wall. Bubba Wallace pushed Almirola into the corner and he went up the banking and into Truex.

Green, Hamlin leads Logano and Kyle Busch off turn two.

26 to go

26 to go, Logano looks to the inside of Hamlin for the lead. Hamlin moves to the top and he’s on defense.

12 to go, Hamlin runs high and gets into the marbles! Hamlin gets sideways. Both Logano and Elliott drive by.

Logano cooks the entry and he gets into the marbles! Hamlin gets into the back of him and Hamlin spins! The caution is out!

Green, Elliott leads into turn one.

4 to go, Elliott to the top and Logano to the bottom. Logano clears him!

Elliott drives it deep into the bottom as he fights back. He gets loose! Elliott goes up the hill and slams Logano in the outside wall.

Brad Keselowski drives by both of them to take the lead. No caution!
