Kurt Busch throws jabs at brother Kyle for crying when he finishes 2nd

Kyle Busch and Kurt Busch discuss the time Kurt was left without a ride home from the racetrack

At Kentucky Speedway back in 2019, Kurt and Kyle Busch were trading paint for the NASCAR Cup Series win.

As the green dropped, Kyle Busch was playing defense on Joey Logano. But, Kurt Busch was on the gas with open track on the outside lane.

Kurt nosed ahead as they crossed the start finish line to take the white flag. But, Kyle was rubbing on his left rear into turn one.

Kurt came off that corner with a tire rub. But, with a half a lap to go, he was still in the gas and door to door with his brother.

They made more contact off turn four as Kyle got loose on the bottom. Kurt had the momentum off turn four as Kyle gathered his car and Kurt took home the win that night.

The two brothers were in the broadcast booth with Fox Sports during Monday night’s NASCAR Xfinity Series event. Together, they recalled a brother battle at Kentucky Speedway.

Kyle and Kurt discuss the battle at Kentucky Speedway

Kyle: “I’m racing Kurt real hard.”

Kurt: “You are side drafting the hell out of me.”

Kyle: “I had to.”

Kurt: “You gave me room. I should have hooked right. That was really nice of you. I found a soft soft in Kyle, it was the exit of turn four.”

Kurt Busch needed a ride home

Kurt went to victory lane and Kyle went to the airport. They flew into the track together but Kyle Busch was outta there.

Kyle: “Samantha texted Ashley and said, ‘Hey, since you guys won… How far out are you gonna be and where’s victory lane?’ Cause we’re driving out of the race track. Kurt had made all the big bucks that night so I think he was gonna get a helicopter out.”

“We got back to the airport and they were still doing victory lane stuff. I was like, ‘We’re going. Ask him if he’s got another ride home. If he doesn’t we’ll wait. If he does, we out.”

Kurt: “That is a crock. I mean, come on.”

“Any time you lose, you’re angry and frustrated. ‘Oh, 2nd place! I’m just so upset.’

“He was just so upset he was going to take off no matter what happened.

Kyle: “That’s so not true.”

Kurt: “I knew it right away.”

Kyle: “At least he knew it right away. But, it wasn’t true.”
