World of Outlaws debut health scanner and COVID testing at the race track gates

This weekend at the dirt track, the World of Outlaws will debut a game changer regarding mass gatherings amid a pandemic

Starting tomorrow, Cedar Lake Speedway will host a three-day World of Outlaws show. The 3/8-mile track in New Richmond, Wisconsin hosts both the Sprint Cars and Late Models.

The event will offer $274,000 in prize money. At the same time, the grandstands will be operating at full capacity.

Fans can expect to be screened as they approach the gates of the track.

The United States has had 2,689,107 cases as of June 30 of which 1,730,925 remain active. 51,021 new cases were added on Tuesday alone in the US. We’re currently seeing the biggest spikes, since the virus outbreak began.

The track sits just 30 minutes East of Minneapolis, MN, a city that has 11,796 active COVID cases. But, the track is located in St. Croix County, WI which has just 164 cases of the virus.

Cases are on the rise across the United States. Mass gatherings are frowned upon or flat not allowed, in many states.

World of Outlaws: Heath Screenings and Free COVID TESTING

However, the World of Outlaws have partnered with IMPACT Health to debut state-of-the-art mass screenings. This is a huge step toward the safety of the race fans.

Dr. Jack Faircloth MD, played a major role in forming the initial plan in the Return to Racing for the Outlaws. Additionally, he will now be available on-site, for fans to see this weekend.

“We have been working behind-the-scenes with world-class providers to deliver some comfort and a small sense of normalcy inside the gates at Cedar Lake Speedway,” World of Outlaws CMO Ben Geisler said.

Geisler continued, “The process will be simple and quick. While the screening technology is state-of-the art, it is actually faster and easier than a metal detector, and the 15-minute free COVID testing won’t look much different than the free health screenings that might take place at nearby Mall of America.”

Health Screening: At the gates, fans will walk through Yates Enterprises’ high-capacity airport-style walk-through temperature-detection technology. The machine is fitted with a red and green light that activates as fans walk through..

If it’s a green light, fans can walk right through and take a seat in the grandstands.

Note: The WoO await the Soter Technologies’ SymptomSense scanner. It’s an advanced, non-invasive,  biometric walk-through scanner that measures additional COVID risk factors, beyond just temperature.

SymptomSense: Tests

-Temperature
-Blood Oxygen Level
-Heart Rate
-Respiration Rate

COVID Testing: If it’s a red light, fans have options.

-They can be sent to the medical experts for an evaluation and free 15-minute COVID test.

-Or, they can choose not to enter the event and get handed a free DIRTvision subscription to watch the race at home.
