NASCAR industry was approved for roughly $45M in PPP loans

Here’s a long list of NASCAR teams, tracks and component manufactures that were approved for Government backed loans

Small businesses were allowed to apply for loans in the Paycheck Protection Program. It’s a program that allowed small businesses to keep their employees on the payroll during a time that they were forced to close during the pandemic.

The loans aren’t provided by the Government. They are third party loans that are backed by the Department of the Treasury.

Between March-May, NASCAR was paused. For more than two months, cars didn’t touch the track, when they were initially scheduled to race every weekend. At the same time, team shops were forced to close.

Below is a lost of teams and organizations in the racing world that applied for PPP loans.

“Small business or non-profit organization that is listed in the publicly released data has been approved for a PPP loan by a delegated lender. However, the lender’s approval does not reflect a determination by SBA that the borrower is eligible for a PPP loan or entitled to loan forgiveness,” U.S. Small Business Association documents read.

The data below only includes active loans.

Per documents from the U.S. Small Business Association, “All PPP loans are subject to SBA review and all loans over $2 million will automatically be reviewed. Because a borrower is listed in the data as having a PPP loan does not mean that SBA has determined that the borrower complied with program rules or is eligible to receive a PPP loan and loan forgiveness.”
