Kyle Busch disqualified after NASCAR win at Texas

The race winner failed post-race inspection

On Saturday afternoon, the NASCAR Xfinity Series returned to Texas Motor Speedway.

Busch started deep in the field, 28th. He was placed there following a random draw earlier in the week due to a lack of qualifying.

As they dropped the green flag, Kyle Busch was on a charge to the front. He was passing them on the outside and quickly on the climb.

By the end of stage one, Busch was inside the top 10. Justin Allgaier won the stage.

By the end of stage two, Busch was up to 3rd.

As the field hit the pit lane ahead of stage three, Busch won the race to the pit exit with a great pit stop. He was set to restart from the lead for the first time.

However, he was caught speeding. Busch was sent to the tail of the field once again.

From the back of the field he came. For the second time, Busch drove through the field.

In the closing stages, Chase Briscoe was forced to pit as he was stretching out his fuel run. That handed the lead to Kyle Busch

Busch drove off to his 98th win at Texas Motor Speedway.

However, that win has now been removed.

Kyle Busch was disqualified from the event after failing post-race technical inspection.

Per a NASCAR release, “Busch’s car was found out of compliance with the height requirements, according to the NASCAR Rule Book. That ruling elevated Austin Cindric, who was the second driver to take the checkered flag, to his third Xfinity Series victory of the year in the My Bariatric Solutions 300. It also sent Busch’s No. 54 to last place in the 37-car field.”

The 2nd place finisher, Austin Cindric has been handed the win.

Austin Cindric tweeted, “3-in-a-row! Contender all day, not the conventional win today @Texas Motor Speedway but great day and points overall. Thank you!”

The last Xfinity race winner to be disqualified was Denny Hamlin at Darlington Raceway.
