Stage 1 – Report

Laps: 40 (1-40 / 156)

Green flag, Johnson is on the bumper of Byron into turn one. He’s even with Bowyer for the lead. Logano takes then four wide further back. Bowyer holds the lead off turn four.

Christopher Bell is on the charge. He quickly climbs to 2nd.

Lap 18, Bowyer leads Bell by 2.2 seconds.

Lap 30, Bowyer leads Bell by 2.7 seconds. Harvick has climbed from 20th to 9th and he has the fastest lap of the race so far.

Clint Bowyer cruises to the win in stage one at MIS!

Stage 2 – Report

Laps: 45 (41-85 / 156)

The field heads to the pit lane. Kyle Busch wins the race to the pit exit.

Green flag on stage two, Kyle Busch leads into turn one with a huge push from Kevin Harvick. Busch drives to the bottom as Harvick stays high and works to his right rear. Harvick leads off turn two.

Lap 75, Harvick leads Keselowski by 2.6 seconds.

Kyle Busch thinks he has a tire coming apart as he races for 2nd.

Kevin Harvick cruises to the win in stage two at Michigan International Speedway! He’s won all five stage so far this weekend.

Stage 3 – Report

Laps: 71 (86-156 / 156)

The field returns to the pit lane. Harvick narrowly beats Kyle Busch to the pit exit.

Green flag on stage three, Blaney is all over the bumper of Hamlin on the inside. Both of them clear Harvick. Hamlin rolls the middle as Blaney pulls to his inside. Blaney clears him on the bottom into turn three.

Lap 93, Harvick sidedrafts Hamlin down the back. He cuts to the bottom drives it deeper than Hamlin and clears him off turn four for 2nd.

Blaney runs high in turn three and puts Harvick in dirty air. Hamlin drives by and takes 2nd as Harvick falls to 4th.

Lap 96, Keselowski sidedrafts Hamlin into turn one. He dives to the bottom clears Hamlin and pulls to the numbers of Blaney for the lead. Keselowski gets loose! He chases it up the hill, collects Blaney and both the Team Penske cars are in the outside wall! The caution is out.

Green, Hamlin leads with a push from Harvick. Hamlin runs the middle as Harvick works high in turn one and hangs onto his right rear. Harvick has the momentum off turn two and returns to the lead.

Clint Bowyer has a heavy tire rub. He’s coming to the pit lane under green.

Lap 105, Christopher Bell is sideways with a flat tire and the caution is back out.

Pit stops

The field returns to the pit lane. Hamlin is off first with fuel only. Harvick is off third with two tires. Almirola stayed out, by accident.

Green, Harvick and Almirola run even into turn one. Harvick sidedrafts him off turn four but he can’t clear him back in turn one.

41 to go, Harvick dives to the bottom in turn one. He sidedrafts Almirola down the back and Harvick finally clears him into turn three.

26 to go, Harvick is running too hot and he’s off the throttle to limit the heat. Almirola, Truex and Hamlin have all climbed to his bumper.

Almirola looks to the inside but he can’t clear Harvick, Truex drives to the outside off Almirola and takes over 2nd in the process.

19 to go

19 to go, Bowman has a flat and the caution is out.

Green, Harvick is clear into turn one. Hamlin works to 2nd.

10 to go, Harvick leads Hamlin by 0.7 seconds.

7 to go, Hamlin has closed the gap slightly. Harvick runs the middle as Hamlin works the far outside lane.

5 to go, Hamlin has closed to within a car length! He was have a race for the win.

4 to go, Hamlin drives it hard to the bottom in turn three but he runs wide off turn four. Harvick opens the gap back to 5 car lengths.

2 to go, Harvick and Hamlin both run wide off turn two!

White flag, Harvick leads by 4 car lengths at the line.
