Tyler Erb and Bobby Pierce comment after contact at Cedar Lake Speedway

Erb: “The only intention I had out there was to stop Bobby on the race track so he couldn’t finish the race and be the one mother-fucker that’s going to whoop his ass.”

On Saturday night, a three-night dirt late model show came to a close in New Richmond, Wisconsin. Cedar Lake Speedway hosted the 100 lap main event paying $50,000 to win.

Fireworks basted in the closing laps of the main event.

Erb was up front all weekend. Pierce missed the 10-minute call on the feature. After joining the tail, Pierce drove through the field and had a chance at a podium finish toward the end of the race.

With 15 laps to go, Pierce was knocking on the cushion with sparks flying as Erb ran the bottom. In the race for 5th, Pierce had a run at the end of the straights while Erb got on the brakes to dive to the bottom.

They collided, Erb was spun off the front bumper of Pierce.

Quickly, retaliation became the agenda, Erb first ran into the left rear of Pierce under caution but the No. 32 kept rolling.

Then, Erb stepped it up. He turned around, went backwards on the track and ran into Pierce again under yellow. They were parked nose to nose on the race track. Erb was ready to fight and encouraged Pierce to step out of the car.

World of Outlaws officials and Bob Pierce ran onto the track to try and stop Erb. In the process, an official was knocked to the ground by Erb’s race car.

It was a wild scene. The fans saw a hell of a show. However, a World of Outlaws suspension is likely on the way for Erb in the coming days.

According to Erb, this isn’t done…

“I got punted in the ass once. I was like, ‘Maybe I need to speed up here a little bit.’ So, I started speeding up. Come out of turn two and that son-of-a-bitch was in the chip when he spun me out,” Tyler Erb told Dirt on Dirt after the incident.

“I had two thoughts of who it might be. I saw on the board, it was Bobby. Racing’s a very humbling, honest sport. At that point, he took away my chance to make any money.”

“So, the only intention I had out there was to stop Bobby on the race track so he couldn’t finish the race and be the one mother-fucker that’s going to whoop his ass.”

“I got him in the left rear and was like, ‘I hope he gets a flat.” I’m telling you, that thing’s a tank. I got nothing against Bob or anybody out there. Hats off to his crew guys because they work harder than anybody in the fucking pits. They have to, to keep up with that mother-fucker.”

“McCreadie’s tried to crash him… A million people have tried to crash him. The problem is they’re so fucking stupid that they don’t make this mother-fucker go work on this thing, build a clip or go get a job and pay for any of this shit.”

“You race with a guy like that, he can’t even tell you what gear is in his car.”

Erb tried to fight Pierce

In the process of retaliation, an official ran up to the car of Erb and tried to reach into the cockpit to take the steering wheel. At the same time, Erb was trying to backup and pull away. That caused the official to get knocked to the ground and nearly run over.

“I do need to apologize to Kenny, Cedar Lake Speedway and all the fans. Because they got to see an ugly side of racing. But, truth be told, we’re in an open locker room, we have no privacy. At some point in time, this Bobby Pierce is going to get his ass-whooped and I hope it’s me, I really do.”

“If Outlaws bans me, I understand. But, where Kenny made a mistake is he let that old man run on the race track, gonna whoop my ass, this and that.”

“I told Bobby, ‘Get out of the car. It’s time for you to get out of the car. We’re putting on a show for the fans. ‘You want to crash me and put on a show?’ I was going to put on a show. I was going to whoop his fucking ass up and down that race track. I’ll do it here, at a truck stop, anywhere he wants to do it.”

Tyler Erb and Bobby Pierce have a history of on-track run ins. Erb listed the 2020 Dirt Late Model Stream and 2019 World 100 were Pierce door’d him.

“It’s been a long time coming.”

“Until he gets it through his head that you cannot run into mother-fuckers like that, he’s going to have an issue, for the rest of his life. Because, any race that he’s in, that I’m in… If this mother-fuckers close to me, I’m telling you, he will not win the race.”

“This is how I make a living. So, when a guy messes with your livelihood, you can only do what you feel is right. That’s what I felt was right at the time.”

“With about 30 to go, I gave him a bump because he was holding me up. I gave him another bump a few laps later. On about the fourth bump, I don’t know how he spun out. But, he spun out.”

“I held my line. Not intentional. He’s done that to about five guys this weekend, flipped Gordy. He spun me out at Plymouth.”

Earlier in the weekend, Gordy Gundaker set his car for the corner and we run into under braking by Tyler Erb. On the heavy track, the end result sent Gundaker upside down and into the fence.

After that incident, Gundaker walked the length of the straight-away to have a conversation with Erb. According to Erb, he took fault and was apologetic for beign aggressive in a passing-points event.

Pierce added, “So, I didn’t feel bad about it. But, it wasn’t intentional.”

“Just the way his head works, I knew [retaliation] was coming. I was waiting for him to pull off the race track, he never did.”

Erb attempted to retaliate multiple times on Pierce.

“I tried to get tucked up behind Billy, then he hits me and spins me out. I go around the race track, he turns around. He turns it into a demo derby. Maybe if he owned all that stuff, he’d be more appreciative.”

“That’s what happens when you race for a team. And that’s what happens when your parents have all the money in the world, I guess you never care for your stuff or for anybody else.”

“That’s the way his mind works. So, I think a guy like that doesn’t need to be racing with us.”
