Kyle Larson tests a dirt late model (Video)

‘The trophy collector’ also also known as Kyle Larson could be coming to the dirt late model scene following test with Kevin Rumley

Update: A video has been added below.

Kyle Larson has been reborn on the dirt tracks in 2020. So far, he’s collected more than 30 dirt racing wins this season. “More than 30,” because at this point it’s too many to keep track of but all of them have come in a midget or dirt sprint car.

Over the weekend, Larson claimed another huge victory at Knoxville Raceway. He won the World of Outlaws show, pocketing $50,000 in addition to the $10,000 earned for his win on the first preliminary night.

Larson previously had plans to test a dirt late model on the Dirt Track at Charlotte in 2019. However, he broke his rib in a crash at Talladega which forced him to cancel those plans.

Amazingly, Larson still hasn’t raced a dirt late model in his career. Until this week, he hasn’t even tested one.

This week, the 28-year-old was seen testing a dirt late model. The car is the No. 6 fielded by K & L Rumley Enterprises.

Kevin Rumley, team co-owner works closing with the No. 39 team. He also has a full-time job working for Bilstein shocks.

The No.6 team is also works with Longhorn Chassis. It’s been previously stated that the team is used to test out future directions for the chassis manufacture. It’s frequently piloted by Tim McCreadie, the same driver of the No. 39 Longhorn house car program.

The dirt late model test session was conducted at Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, SC.

Dating all the way back to 2017, Larson has expressed interest in running a dirt late model. He previously stated, “Those cars look really, really fun. The racing’s always tight. You can run 3-4 wide at most tracks.”

Nick Stephens of the Nemesis Design Studio also teased a photo of a Kyle Larson dirt late model shirt.

A dirt late model race appearance for Kyle Larson seams to be coming in the near future.
