Comical NASCAR: Top 7 cars miss turn one on Daytona Road Course (Video)

Watch as 14 total cars run wide into turn one and miss the corner

On Saturday, the NASCAR Xfinity Series took to the new Daytona Road Course in Daytona Beach, Fl for the first time.

Watch the turn one blunder video below.

Teams entered the race without a single lap of practice or qualifying. They made it through turn one on lap 1, just fine. But, the turn was an issue later in the race…

A restart with just 7 laps to go brought pure comedy.

Chase Briscoe and Austin Cindric were the class of the field. But, they went to the pit lane under the yellow, along with most of the field.

Bayley Currey, Kyle Weatherman and Myatt Snider stayed out on old tires. As the green dropped, the front row spun the tires and bunched up the field.

Chase Briscoe went three wide on the outside. Little did he know, he would be pushed right off the track.

As the field dove off into turn one, they all forgot the brake pedal. The top 7 cars ran wide and completely missed the corner.

But, it was far more than the top 7. In total, 14 cars ran wide into turn one. That’s almost half the field as 30 or so cars remained in the race at this point.

Brandon Jones, who restarted in 8th popped out of turn one with the race lead. He passed 7 cars in one corner.

Meanwhile, they weren’t done crash behind him. Ross Chastain crowded the track as he re-entered the racing surface from the grass.

Briscoe ran three wide through turn two (a single file corner). Paston Pardus was spun and slammed the fence.

Finally, the caution was deployed.
