On Sunday, F1 entered the Tuscan Grand Prix. The race was hosted at the Mugello Circuit in Tuscany, Italy.

Ahead of the race, Hamilton took a knee with many of the drivers on the grid. Other drivers wore shirts that stated, ‘End Racism’.

Hamilton wore a shirt that said, ‘Arrest the cops who killed Breonna Taylor’. The back of the shirt featured her picture with the phase, ‘Say her name’.

26-year-old Taylor, was killed during a police raid back in March. The incident took place in Louisville, Kentucky.

Hamilton drove to the win in Saunday’s Formula One event.

The race winner spoke on the shirt saying, “It took me a long time to get that shirt and I’ve been wanting to wear that and bring awareness to the fact that there’s people that have been killed on the street and there’s someone that got killed in her own house, and they’re in the wrong house, and those guys are still walking free.”

He added, “We can’t rest, we can’t… we have to continue to raise awareness with it.”

Lewis Hamilton ended his press conference with the phrase, “Justice for Breonna Taylor.”

Previously, Hamilton has shown the Black Power salute on the podium. That took place in the Styrian GP in July.

Currently, the FIA is investigating whether or not Hamilton broke any F1 rules by wearing the shirt. The FIA rule book does not allow political branding of any kind.
