Mike Wallace is confused why Bubba Wallace wasn’t suspended by NASCAR

Does he have an argument? Bubba Wallace made similar comments as Mike Wallace; Only one was suspended by NASCAR

Mike Wallace recently returned to NASCAR for the first time in 5 years. He drove a handful of NASCAR Xfinity Series events for JD Motorsports on the road courses of the schedule.

Soon after, he was suspended by NASCAR. Wallace was found to be in violation of sections 12.1, 12.8 and 12.8.1.e of the NASCAR rulebook.

A series of facebook shares and comments were what brought on the suspension of Mike Wallace. Those are seen below.

In recent months, NASCAR has become highly political. Bubba Wallace is one of the more vocal drivers on the grid regarding social issues.

In some of his tweets, Bubba Wallace personally responded to the president of the United States. In others, he’s directly attacked supporters of President Trump.

Mike Wallace and Bubba Wallace are not related.

One tweet from Bubba Wallace, is strikingly similar to the post that Mike Wallace suspended. Yet, Bubba Wallace wasn’t fined or suspended by the sanction.

Bubba Wallace: Twitter message

Back in August, Wallace tweeted a message in response to fans booing him after the crash at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Bubba Wallace said, “I’m over hearing people say ‘leave politics out of NASCAR’ when they are the same damn ones that were drooling over the fact of the BIGGEST political person being at the Daytona 500 this year. Same damn ones that love when the Trump car is on track..Buncha damn clowns!!”

The above tweet was later deleted by Bubba Wallace.

Mike Wallace is unsure why he was suspended while Bubba Wallace was not

Mike Wallace: “I’m a lot confused.”

Both of the posts above target political figures in a very similar way. Yet, the two posts drew a very different reaction from NASCAR.

“I can assure you there were no racist comments or racial slurs, no cuss word [and] no negative comment towards individual people,” Wallace told Toby Christie last week.

Wallace added, “Speak to NASCAR, I’m confused.”

On Sunday, Mike Wallace shared a photo of the tweet from Bubba Wallace with the following message:

“I’m a lot confused, this is ok for Bubba Wallace to say but others can’t make view points,” Mike Wallace opened via social media.

“Without getting suspended Let me spell out bottom line because his post was a little off center in the paper. These are Bubba’s, a few moments ago. Words not mine, I’m just writing them so that you can see them.”

He quoted the tweet from Bubba Wallace: “I’m over hearing about politics out of ‘NASCAR’ when they are the same damn ones that were drooling over the fact of the BIGGEST political person being at the Daytona 500 this year. Same damn ones that love when the Trump car is on track.. bunch’s Damn Clowns????????????.”

Mike Wallace added, “Sounds to me that fits in section 12.8 NASCAR members actions that could result in a fine/ or indefinite suspension or termination. Sounds that way to me. JB”

-RULEBOOK-

NASCAR rule 12.8 refers to NASCAR Member Conduct Guidelines.
