Trevor Bayne disqualified by NASCAR after Bristol Motor Speedway

Trevor Bayne just grabbed his first top-5 since 2017; It won’t count due to the DQ following NASCAR inspection

On Thursday night, Bristol Motor Speedway hosted the NASCAR Truck Series.

Until Daytona a few weeks ago, Trevor Bayne has not raced in NASCAR since 2018. He previously drove the No. 6 for Roush Fenway Racing.

Now, Bayne has returned to the sport via the NASCAR Truck Series.

Bristol Motor Speedway was his best showing since his return. He finished 5th in the race but he won’t be credited with that result.

Trevor Bayne disqualified at Bristol Motor Speedway

The No. 45 truck failed post-race height requirements. Bayne will now be scored last in the UNOH 200 results.

Trevor Bayne has run the last three truck races with Niece Motorsports. The first race at Daytona brought a 27th place finish. Last week at Richmond, he finished 29th.

With the Bristol DQ, Bayne is credited with 36th.

Additionally, the No. 19 McAnally-Hilgemann Toyota of Derek Kraus was found with one loose lugnut.
