NASCAR penalty report following Kansas Speedway

Over the weekend, NASCAR traveled to Kansas City, Kansas. Kansas Speedway hosted the Round of 8 opener for all three of the premier touring divisions.

Joey Logano drove to victory lane on Sunday. His car cleared post race inspection and he was officially declared the race winner on Sunday night.

On Tuesday, NASCAR announced four penalties from the Kansas race weekend. Three in the NASCAR Cup Series and 1 in the NASCAR Truck Series.

Penalty: Crew chief ( Rodney Childers ) has been fined $10,000.

Driver: Kyle Busch #18

Infraction Date: October 18, 2020 (Post-Race)

Infraction: Sections 10.9.10.4 – Tires and Wheels – Note: Lug nut(s) not properly installed.

Penalty: Crew chief ( Adam Stevens ) has been fined $10,000.

Driver: Martin Truex Jr #19

Infraction Date: October 18, 2020 (Post-Race)

Level: Safety

Infraction: Sections 10.9.10.4 – Tires and Wheels – Note: Lug nut(s) not properly installed.

Penalty: Crew chief ( James Small ) has been fined $10,000.
