NASCAR police car wrap to run at Martinsville Speedway

Race team to honor Police during NASCAR Playoffs in Martinsville, Virginia

Josh Bilicki will unload his No. 7 machine this weekend at Martinsville Speedway in Virginia. It’s the second to last NASCAR Cup Series race of the 2020 season.

The special police car design doesn’t honor one police department. Instead, the one-off wrap honors 200+ fallen police officers from 2020.

The car features a base of black and white, like most police cruisers across the country. The wrap also features decal lights on both the roof and the grill.

“Protect & Serve” is highlighted on the rear quarter panel.

On the hood, 200 stars are featured on the hood. Each of them represents an officer fallen in the line of duty.

The team has been working with the Wounded Blue organization. The organization helps officers that have been wounded on the job.

The team sponsor, Insurance King wanted to do something special for Martinsville.

“We came up with the idea to make the car look like a cop car because NASCAR began with bootleggers outrunning the police,” Insurance King president Dan Block told TMZ.

“However, when we partnered with The Wounded Blue, we ended up going one step further with this paint scheme and are dedicating this design to each police officer that lost their life in 2020.”

So why the no. 7 and not no. 911? NASCAR only allows single and double-digit numbers in the field.
