Hudson O’Neal: 2021 car photos released

The dirt late model team has posted image of the No. 71 for their new driver

Double Down Motorsports is a dirt late model team that was established in 2015.

In 2019, the team made the step to the national dirt late model tour. Shanon Buckingham ran full time with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.

In 2020, Hudson O’Neal signed as the driver of the MasterSbilt house car. The team struggled to get a footing and dropped off the tour ahead of a trip to Lucas Oil Speedway.

Weeks later, O’Neal landed with a new team. It was created by the family of his girlfriend and put him back in the seat for the rest of the year.

Also in 2020, Shanon Buckingham dropped off the tour to focus on his business. A second car, driven by Robby Moses, remained in action.

Now, for 2021, Hudson O’Neal is set to take over the No. 50 machine at Double Down Motorsports. They’ve also made the switch to Rocket Chassis.

Double Down Motorsports comments

Recently, the team shared the first images of the new car.

Double Down Motorsports stated, “The day y’all have been patiently waiting for is FINALLY here!! We cannot wait to get our year started with Hudson O’Neal in just little less than a month!”

The team added, “We can’t thank all our sponsors enough for making this happen. Here’s to a great year.”

The team also stated, “All merchandise has been ordered and should be up on the site ready to purchase within the next couple weeks!”

The team will battle for a Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series championship with the former Rookie of the Year driver. The No. 71 season will begin in January at All-Tech Raceway.
