Stewart Friesen set for Super Dirt Late Model debut

The NASCAR Truck Series driver will debut his new dirt car during Speedweeks

Stewart Friesen circles the world of NASCAR on a weekly basis via the NASCAR Truck Series.

On his off-weekends, Friesen hits dirt tracks all across the country. Typically, those events are run in big-block modifieds in the Northeast.

Both of those machines are run out of the same stable, Halmar Friesen Racing. Now, the team will be adding a third car.

For 2021, the 37-year-old driver will make his first appearance in a super dirt late model. The team will field the No. 44 Longhorn Chassis powered by a Cornett Racing Engine. Tommy Grecco will serve as the crew chief for the late model effort.

Previously, Friesen made a single start in a crate late model.

The new team will make their debut with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. Their first race is scheduled for Jan 22-23 at All-Tech Raceway in Lake City, Florida. The remainder of the late model schedule remains unscheduled.

Friesen’s first 2021 Modified start is scheduled for Bubba Raceway Park Jan. 26-30.

In the last three seasons, Friesen has run full-time in the NASCAR Truck Series. He’s collected three wins and 49 top 10s over the course of 93 starts.
