Chili Bowl Nationals All-Star race results

The Chili Bowl Nationals is underway in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It’s a week long dirt midget program inside the Tulsa Expo Center. Tuesday’s program features an unique addition from the rest of the week, a Chili Bowl All-Star race.

This year’s race features 15 dirt racing All-Stars. The event features last year’s champions from national dirt racing series. It also includes recent winners and podium finishers of the Chili Bowl Nationals and past VIROC events.

The VIROC field took to the track for a qualifying session that doubled as a hot lap session. Rico Abreu was fastest overall. However, the top 8 qualifiers have been inverted for the main event.

The track has been reworked ahead of the main event. Moisture has been sprinkled ahead of the first feature.

VIROC
Race Report

Green flag, they run even into turn one. They remain even for several laps.

Lap 3, Bayston slides Thorson for the lead. Thorson crosses under him to retake the spot.

Lap 5, Cannon McIntosh moves to 2nd. Thorton opens the gap slightly.

Lap 7, Larson looks under Bayston for 4th. Bayson checks up and spins in the process. Rico Abreu and Chris Windom are collected and the caution is out.

Green, Thorson leads as Bell takes over 2nd. Larson jumps the inside berm, bicycles and nearly rolls it. Larson loses several spots as he gathers it up.

Jake Neuman spins and the caution is out.

Green, Thorson leads Christopher Bell as the leaders knock the cushion.

Lap 11, Bell slides Thorson for the race lead! He takes the spot.

Rico Abreu rolls after contact with Brad Sweet and the caution is out.

Green, Bell leads. Larson climbs back to 3rd.

Lap 19, Thorson slides Larson and doors him in the process! Larson is pushed up over the cushion. Larson drops to 5th as Thorson loses even more spots.

5 to go, Bell leads McIntosh by 2 seconds.
